Okay, I have a few questions about some of the drinks...yeah, the ones with liquor from the Magic. :drinking1

We were just on the Thanksgiving cruise and I need some "recipes". DH and I are debating about the last one from Lumiere's on Friday (Best of...) night. The name is Aqua Marina...I know it had rum, blue curacao, a splash of sprite and a type of schnapps. I say it was a melon schnapps and DH says peach. He also thinks there is some type of juice in it and I disagree. All I know it was smooooooth! :smooth:

The other drink is the infamous Konk Cooler from the Konked Out Bar...their Konk Cooler is by far better than the one from the adult beach. I like the smoothie texture better than the one made in the blender. Ick!

So if anyone can check the menu for the Aqua Marina or tell me the mix for the Konk Cooler I would be grateful. :worship:

I do not know those recipes off hand, however I know the Art of Entertaining does have a cocktail class. It may have it on there.

Thanks! I'd appreciate it!

I am looking forward to konk cooler. It would be great if somone posted the recipe. We leave on Saturday on the Disney Magic.Where is the Konked Out Bar at?I have always gotten a cooler from the adult beach. It sounds like I am definitely missing something! Thanks!

Konk Kooler:

1/2 can cream of coconut
3 ounces light rum
3 ounces dark rum
1/2 of a 12oz can frozen passion fruit juice concentrate(Welches)
4 oz of orange juice
2-3 cups of ice
Add all together in a blender until very fine and serve!

Drop the rum for a non-alcoholic version.

I went to disneycruise.com when we got home and emailed them for the Coconut Java recipe and they responded within a couple days with the full recipe. You could give that a shot.

I knew I could count on the DIS family! You guys are great! I plan to ask Santa for one of those smoothie machines for Christmas...ummm!

Yeah, the Konked Out Bar is the main one across from Cookies BBQ...the Konk Coolers there are way better than the adult bar where they make them individually in the blender. The ones at the Konked Out Bar are poured out just like a smoothie...think ICEE/Slush Puppy consistency....so much better! The first day at CC, the bartender floated a shot of dark rum on top. I thought that was how it was always done since that was my first one. When we went back to CC on the second day the bartender didn't do it...I thought he was giving me the non-alcoholic version and asked for the rum floated on top. He told me the rum is in the mix, but floated it for me anyway....yum! and an extra taste of rum!!

Maria,

If you think about it when you are on the Magic, could you check the ingredients for that Aqua Marina. We had it the last night in Lumiere's for the "Best of..." dinner. I suspect it was on all the menus that night not just at Lumiere's .

Thanks! I would be very grateful!

ps...And if you have Glendene from Trinidad & Tobago and Mark from South Africa tell then hi for Laura, Eric and Nic from Thanksgiving. :flower1:

Didn't have it on the cruise, but I saw a recipe for a drink they serve on the holiday cruise- Snowflakes- rum, creme de cacao, cream of coconut and vanilla ice cream. It came out pretty good in our blender, I can only imagine it'd be better on the ship. Of course, even snails are good on the ship!

Personally, I didn't like the Konk Kooler from the Dec cruise. It was Yellow :confused3 . The one from 2 years ago was much better!!!!!!! We have made the recipe that Mark posted and it is really yummy too!!!
We had the Aqua Marina on our first cruise in 04 and I thought it tasted like cough syrup.... Different strokes for different folks...... :goodvibes

I have a smoothie machine, but "the Magic Bullet" is better. You can make individual frozen drinks right in the glass. Clean up is so much easier.
