Magic Double-dip "SCOOP AWAY THE POUNDS"

Dee...can my goal just be one freakin' pound???? Ok, so I have been VERY busy and wasn't perfect this weekend at DL, but I wasn't really bad, either. I have been watching my scale go from 18 down to 16 down to 18 down to 16 (and one day about a week and a half ago, up 6...that was after Knott's...blaming that on heat and salt!), etc. I just want to see 19 down for more than one day!!!!

Birthdays are over, weekend trips are over...no excuses..ok, the stress of DS17 joining the Marines on Monday before he even turns 18...but, I'm NOT going to let that get me. If he can make it through recruit training, I can lose one freakin' pound, right???

Ok, enough about me...RTD...Peggy, are you still swimming???

I haven't been back in the pool since last week!!! ARGHH... but I know that with me, if I move, then the eating healthy will follow - that Monte Cristo was a big bad "no no"!

But today I am feeling a bit less - angry at myself -so that's some progess eh?

Have a great WATER filled day everyone!

Hey guys, please do not be so hard on yourselves. I have learned to live by these rules.

1. Do not tell yourself no or deny yourself.

2. It is my choice and I can have whatever I want. There is a trade off.

I set a limit for myself in order to get healthier to see my new DGD grow up, graduate from college, get married and watch her child be born.

So I am using points. If I want the snickers bar, I eat it. he trade off is that I do not get those points to eat later. I have also started cutting things in half. For example..Chick Fil A has these new milkshakes out. I figured out the points and 1 vanilla milkshake is 15 pts. It is not worth spending all those points, but I could cut it in half with DH or even have a quarter of it. Those points are doable for me and I still get the pleasure of the milkshake and learn to limit my amounts. I figure it is great training for me becasue portion control is half the battle anyway.

So ask yourself, did you like the monte cristo? Was it everything you had hoped it would be? If you can answer yes to those two questions then there is nothing wrong with treating yourself. After all it was a vacation. Now back to eating healthy.

See I am not like you guys. I have a long way to go and a lot of time to learn. I want to get it right and never go back.

Just some food for thought.

Wiser words were never spoken - and you are right, the Monte Cristo was delicious - and I enjoyed it and the company. I will NOT feel bad about myself because I am a good person and that's more important. Now, the weight WILL come off, if I just stick to getting back to my work-outs and one thing is GOOD that came out of this, my knee is holding up and I can kick up the work-outs a notch by adding bike, and or tread mill a bit! So yipee!

Thanks Dee you are the fairy dust I needed!:cheer2: pixiedust:

Sorry...I've been a little frustrated with the scale. I did NOT overindulge at Disney and I did NOT feel guilty about anything I ate really. It just wasn't as fiber and fruit/vegi oriented as it would have been at home. (TMI, I'm sure...but, I am the Fiber Queen!) I don't tend to beat myself up too much, I'm just annoyed with the scale! (How dare it give me a completely accurate reading! The nerve!)

I do, however, love to see you ladies melting away to a healthier you:)....

CNN REPORT - DEE ONWARD AND DOWNWARD AGAIN

This report comes directly you to from headquarters - Scoop Away the Pounds thread...

Yes, fellow diper's it is true, Dee has done it again - she has broken all records set to-date and continues to keep her fellow cruiser's motivated beyond belief... this from your Souper Dooper Double Dip Scooper... Peggy Jo!

Way to go, Dee!!!! Good for you!! Another loss on top of last week's huge loss....YEAH!!!!!!

Carolyn

Peggy Jo...you crack me up. Thanks guys for the support. It really helps me keep going. There have been days when I want to give up because it is not noticable yet, but you guys make all the differance. You give me a differnt perspective. One that is not important what the scale or others see, but that I am working on getting healthier. I am now determined to work out more...did I say that. I hate to sweat, but I feel it is important if I want to tone as I go. So this weekend it is all about organizing my corner of the world to make room and hook up the DVD. :cool1:  :cool1:

Thanks for updating Jackie. RTD

GO DEE!!! :cheer2:

You all are inspiring me! I would like to take off at least 15 pounds before the cruise (I need to lose at least 40, but that won't happen before cruise, lol) and I have been just goofing off, not trying very hard. So I am posting this to get me going. Wish me luck!

Welcome, Linda!!!!

Ok, ladies, two days in a row without stepping on a scale. I just can't face it. I think I need a vacation from it. Yesterday, was BAD...even DH asked me, "What are you doing with those skittles?" (Yes, in a very nice way...) Today, much better, but I'm afraid of the scale...no weigh in for me this week. (I'll just bask a little bit in Dee's glow....:)

RTD and O&D (sorry Bubba...)

Carolyn...to funny. Today I thought I would lose my mind. I was sitting in my office when my nurse asked to talk to me. I went next door to her office and I kept hearing voices. You guys jknow what I mean, you have all heard them before. I kept trying to ignore them, but they got louder. I got up and left and went back to my office and now they are screaming at me, eat me eat me. Those darn Dunin Doughnuts would not leave me alone. I stayed strong and ate some grapes and a yogurt. What an awful hour that was. I needed a nap afterwards just from the interpersonal fight. :rotfl:

I did manage to treat myself after dinner to some sugar free bunny tracks with FF carmel sauce.

Choices..they are not all they are cracked up to be. ;)

I hear you on that one sister!

Linda, welcome! Glad you joined us.

I, too, want another 15 off before the cruise. A pound a week is VERY doable...in my secret heart I want MORE off in the next 16 WEEKS and 2 lbs a week is still a healthy loss....I think maybe I should just GO FOR IT! No more molly-coddling, get out those sneakers, hit that pool....time to go into training! No 'special events' coming up to get me off track (I can overlook my birthday, knowing 4 days after I'm getting on the ship!).

BTW, I've lost the DL weekend weight....3 1/2 pounds of it. I'm so glad it didn't set me back for two weeks. Guess a lot of it was water/carb related ::yes:: Another 1/2 lb and I can 'officially' accept that one pound loss I saw the day before we left!

OK. time to hit the shower and head in to work....I even have something to pack for lunch....salad and rotis. chicken and fruit and celery sticks for a snack and apple sauce and sugar free Jello or Jellp pudding....I'm set!

YOU GO SISTAH!!!! I'm up - and can't get it off, and can't get back on track - but I'm ok with it. My database is finally finally updated, confirmed and compared and entered properly!!!! YIPEE - back to swimming next week for me and I did get the crock pot fired up today - so I know how easy it is to eat healty, throw some veggies, and some chicken in the pot and bam you have hot nice dinner when you get home!!!

Have I said TGIF?

Oh my gosh. We had Boston Market tonight. It was not planned. We ere out and it was getting late. Dh called and asked me to p/u dinner. It was Boston Market or Fazollis. I, like the good girl chose Boston Market. I got chicken ,mixed veggies, green beans, corn bread, unsweetened ice tea and they trew in two desserts. One was a Chocolate dream and the other a straberry shortcake. I was certain that the corn bear was 2 pts each, I ate 4. To my surprise, when I came up to log in my points, they are 4.5 points. I darn near died. The I ate a ton of veggies to only find out they the green beans were 2.5 pts and the mixed veggies were .5. Wholly cow. The best part was the dessert, choc dream was only 3 pts. Heck I should have eaten just that. :rotfl: Well I tapped into my bonus pts this week. I try hard not to use them. I guess I had better be getting my tail out for a walk, several times tomorrow and everyday thereafter. So what is the lesson here, do not do Boston Market or when in a hurry drive the extra distance and get what you know for sure.

Well onward and downward from here.

YIKES! That's a good chunck of a day's points!

That's good to know! Sometimes when a sweet seems necessary Peg and I would do the McDonalds cone as that is 3 WW points...nice to know there is a CHOCOLATE alternative out there ::yes::

I feel the need for a dip in the pool coming over me....wonder if little sister is awake yet????
