Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

no worries - I have had quite a few replies on the main thread, I think we will either book a dcl trip or just take a taxi to a nearby beach - I think St John is too far for us with the boys - we'll save that for next time!;)

By the way - have a look at the 'cruise itinerary and character names magnetic graphics' thread on the main cruise board, (post#227 on page 16) -What do you think of my door sign that someone has designed for me?? - beautiful isn't it!!:lovestruc

I love it! I want one too! I am going to ask my family what characters they want. i know my husband would be tigger, but my kids, I do not know, they have so many favorites!

I just noticed our tickers. 22 months to go! YAHOOOOO:cool1:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

O.K. - that is too cute! Is that the magnetic sticker for your door? I've never read through that thread (but will have to). How do you go about getting one of those made?

I'm planning on them being our door magnets, but have no clue how to do it!!:lmao: I am saving the pictures to my computer and then will ask for help from the boards later on!!!!

I sent a PM to the person making them. Copy picture(s) into word and you can buy magnetic paper to run through your printer. Seems easy enough. If I could only figure out which characters to get for each family member.

Regarding Trunk Bay - I'm dying to go there as well. I've heard incredible things about St. John. Unfortunately, I think the DCL excursion there is just too short. So, I'm thinking St. John might require a week's vacation by itself (they have so many beautiful beaches to explore there). So, I'm thinking that when we dock in St. Thomas, we will catch a cab to Magens Bay for the day. I've heard its beautiful there as well. We will be doing the 2009 Thanksgiving Eastern cruise, so I'll report back afterwards.

I'm really hoping we'll be able to do this Christmas 2010 trip - am still wondering how in the world we'll be able to save that much by then!

Sounds easy enough - even for a computer ILLiterate like me!!:rotfl: - thanks for that!:thumbsup2 Its tough choosing (it was easy for me as I am a life long Chip n Dale fan, but I struggled with the childrens!!);)

I think we will go to Magens too (It is Magens isn't it - I keep asking on the main board if it is the same place as the Megans Beach that they keep referring too??:confused3 :) ) I also like the sound of Sapphire beach - but I will do whichever is closest to the ship I think, especially if I don't book it through DCL!:thumbsup2 Jodie, I know what you mean about the price, and with the pound dropping so much against the dollar, our price is getting more and more expensive!! - I'm definitely going though but it just might effect how many excursions I do, or what hotels we stay at while we are in Florida!! xx

I am itching to go somewhere. I am not sure I can wait until 12/2010 to cruise again. Is anyone doing any cruises before then? i keep hearing about great deals people are getting, but I can not find them. Maybe I am pickiy about when i would go.

Just wanted to see what others are doing to keep themselves occupied before Christmas cruise.

We are supposed to be leaving for Disneyland Thursday morning, staying for 1 1/2 weeks. I say "supposed" because my 5 year old son is having issues with an abscessed tooth right now. He is booked in this afternoon for a root canal, and hopefully the dentist will be able to complete the procedure today. His toothache started late last week, and he had to be on antibiotics for a few days before they could do anything with the tooth. Thank goodness for trip insurance, because there is no way we could take him anywhere right now. The poor little guy hasn't eaten anything solid for days (soup, yogurt, pudding, ice cream, protein smoothies). We have promised our kids that if things don't work out this week we will reschedule within the month. We are crossing our fingers!!

As far as another cruise, I also have been checking out various prices. Our problem is not so much getting a deal on the cruise, but getting a deal on the airfare. The best price I have ever seen for airfare for the 4 of us to Orlando is $3500. I have considered a cruise out of Los Angeles (the Royal Caribbean to Mexico), as the airfare is much cheaper - $2000.00 for the 4 of us. But when you add the price of the cruise, even at a sale price, it's still not a particularly cheap vacation. I would like to go somewhere hot, maybe over Christmas 2009, but we'll have to wait and see. I completely agree that 2010 is too long to wait!

We are book on the last Tortola cruise this year. We are on the 9/12 sailing and can't wait. We reserved last year when we were on the Magic in Sept so we got a pretty good deal. It's nice that DCL gave us an onboard credit for the Fuel Charge we were originally forced to pay :headache:

I am going to keep looking. My TA sent me some specials that they are running, but it still is not as low as I have seen on these boards. I will keep searching.

I hope your son is feeling better and all is well.

Thanks for the well wishes. We are home from the dentist, and he is sleeping off the many drugs he was given to sedate him this afternoon. The infection was so bad that his tooth was pulled. The dentist says that there should be no problem travelling now, in a couple of days he should feel as good as new. Disneyland, here we come!
:thumbsup2

My daughter had the same thing and had to have a tooth pulled. She was 10 when it happened. It did not take long for her to recover, I hope your son has the same results. I was pretty mad actually because 1 year earlier, I paid to have a cavity on that baby tooth. They should have pulled it then!

Just kidding.

Enjoy your trip! Say Hi to Mickey for me!

Oh what a shame, I really hope he gets better soon.:lovestruc Hopefully you make the trip, but I suppose if you have to delay it a few weeks, you might have even better Californian weather to look forward to??!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We'd love to do another cruise or vacation before Christmas 2010, but I really don't think finances will stretch that far :scared1: - I think next year's vacation will use 3 years worth of vacation budgets as it is!!:lmao:

Well, everything turned out great with my son. He is like a new kid since his tooth was pulled - he really must have been feeling terrible, poor little guy.

We are all packed and just about ready to go. We have to be at the airport by 7 a.m. It will be a very early morning in our house, but we're not complaining :yay: :yay:

I will try and post pictures when we get home. I've never done that before, does anybody have any advice for me?
