Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

My 7 year old son LOVES the lego store...especially since you can play with all the lego's out front...DD is definitely worth the bus ride...They have giant lego statues and tons of other fun stuff to do! I look forward to going there as much as the parks!!

Oh that sounds cool! We will definitely be going now. I figure we can dump our stuff at the hotel, go to DD, shop, eat lunch, go back to hotel, and then go to WDW for the evening. Now I'm really excited to see DD!!

Michelle-
Yes....the magnet making becomes addictive....my DH is starting to tease me that our door is going to start looking like Walt threw up on it! :lmao:

And Happy Birthday! My 40th is in 8 days......not that I'm counting or anything!

Penny

Thanks Penny! Happy birthday to you too! We will have to have a birthday cocktail together! 40 is actually pretty cool. The way I looked at is - I have a great life. I have a wonderful, loving husband who is my best friend, the most amazing little girl who melts my heart everyday, my own business, a great family, and the best friends in the world! I have a feeling this is going to be the best year ever.

Thanks to everyone for the information on how to make the magnets. I am going to try to do it later in the week since this week-end took and unfortunate turn of events and stopped us from doing anything we had planned to do in order to get ready to leave on the 16th. :headache: I finished off putting up the outdoor Christmas lights last Wednesday because my husband had to have minor foot surgery after unpleasantly having a lot of food pain. It turned out to be a shard of metal that had been in his foot for god knows how long and was caught by his Dermatologist during an exploratory procedure since he has been having the pain for months. It was so strange because neither of recall him ever stepping on anything  Then late Friday night I started to feel terrible...throat felt like it was tightening which really freaked me out since I did have Thyroid Cancer. However once the hives started to appear everywhere I was able to take a breathe of relief until the itchiness started....:eek: I went straight to my allergist who ran some tests and sure enough I had an Anaphylaxsis reaction to the trees that I hung the lights in outside. She said I was very lucky that I take a daily Xyzol for my seasonal allergies or the throat tightness would of been a lot worse. So two shots and three medications later here I am..... She also told me that she has no idea how long the hives will last so I got a statement saying that I am not trying to cruise with a infectious skin disease just in case the question arises. I just may want to stay away from tree life in the ports we are going too :rolleyes1. I got to be honest though the whole reaction has really taken the wind out of my sails...I feel like I was run over by a bus. Then to make matters worse DH,DS and DD all came down with sinus infections  I guess better this week than next! I guess at least my vacation started early since they gave me the time off to recoup before the trip which I so greatly appreciated.

The weather is darn cold in Panama City tonight....I think we have hit 23 degrees ( -4 for all my fellow Canadians) and its pretty much supposed to stay like this all week after the sun goes down. BRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I do have yet another question to throw out there...I never think of them all together. It usually hits me as I lay in bed at night....but where does one find those huge Mickey hands that I have seen in several pictures of people that are cruising? We are still planning on doing the MVMCP on the 16th so if they are at Magic Kingdom somwhere I will definitely be able to get them! Also does anyone have any experience with Bippity Boppity Boutique? I was hoping to get DD 3 in there for some sort of appointment on the 16th but I know they are probably booked. Can you just walk in and buy some merchandise from there or are the items only for the packages you purchase? I am going to call at somepoint tomorrow once I know our schedule a bit better for the 16th however any information is greatly appreciated! :wizard: I think after this week-end I am going to book a few extra spa treatments for myself too :cutie: I swear one thing we are not is BORING!

Oh, My, Christie! Hope that covers all the bad luck for you and your fam for the rest of 2010! Wishing you fast healing!

We got our Mickey hands at one of the resorts in their ever-present gift shops. I'm sure they are probably standard inventory at most Disney shops?? Good luck to you!

Penny

(((Christie))) I have seen the Minnie hands for the 3-6 crowd at Walmart here in TN. DD5 LOVED the Bippity Bobbity Boutique.

We made a ressie in advance and brought our own Snow White costume (found on etsy.com and it still fits so it is coming on the cruise ;)). I believe the costumes available in the store were for purchase toall, not just clients having an appointment. DD5 had a blast :thumbsup2

LOL! How true! We complain the minute it's cold. And then we start dressing for the North Pole. :lmao: I was in disney all weekend. It was sooo much fun but I was cold. You could immediately tell who was from up north and who was from the south. Too funny. For the taping of the christmas parade, I had a velour track suit with a camisole and regular long sleeve shirt underneath, leg warmers, socks, sneakers, a coat, gloves and scarf. The northerns were wearing a long sleeve tee and shorts. :confused3

Lisa - this is so true!:lmao: I have been down there over Christmas several times when it was a little "chilly". The cast members were all in parkas, gloves, and hats, and I was in shorts and a T-shirt.:cool2:

We haven't been above 20 degrees for the last couple of days so your 55-65 looks pretty good to us. Right now outside - 15 degrees but feels like 0.:cold: High today - a whole 16 degrees! We are looking forward to the balmy temps in FL.:sunny::beach:

Christie - sending a little pixie dust pixiedust: your way hoping you all feel better soon. Tell everyone we said hello!

Like Penny, I have seen the hands at most of the bigger shops and the shops in the resorts.

The Princess dresses can be purchased in the shops too. I think the one with the best selection is the World of Disney store at DTD. There is a Bippity Bobbity Boutique there too but anyone can purchase the outfits.

17 degrees in STL...

Spent the weekend.... cleaning & packing.. :laundy:

Amy got a new pair of black boots for her birthday..they look HOT..:cool2:

Went to the mall just to see the madness.. We are actually finished shopping. With the pirate::santa: we don't do too much gift wise for each other.

This week is going to be BUSY :scared1: Lots of Christmas & extra activities scheduled. :drive:

Our girls love BBB - we are planning on taking them this time too. Our oldest who is now 9 says she's too old to be a princess again so she's opting for a Hanna Montana look this time. We always take this opportunity to buy new costumes for the girls so we don't have to pack the ones we have here. Our girls have done it when they were 3 and really liked it.

You know you are officially overpacking when you find yourself packing the drive-thru drink holder thingie from McDonald's to tote your drinks down from Deck 9 to your room.

Lord help my husband when he sees THAT.

I discovered the best way EVER for people who travel at Christmas to get cards out on time - hallmark.com. I downloaded my address shreadsheet a three years ago and it has been a lifesaver! This year I did photo cards and had them sent directly to the people - they had a savings of free postage and it ended up costing less than $1 per card for the card, addressed and stamped and I had them all done in less than 15 min. (I send out over 100 cards, so well worth the money for the hours of addressing and mailing!) I was even able to type a personal message - family update for the card. I would highly recommend it!

Christie - I hope you are feeling better soon!

Did everyone get the F/E list? I can PM you if you still need it, but I thought after a few days probably everyone has it - I keep telling myself I need to get on here more frequently, then I get tied up in other things!

I have been having challenges with my printer and the magnetic paper! Has anyone had this problem? I use a Brother Multifunction center and get a paper jam message when I try to get the magnetic paper to feed through - the first one went in fine, but I put it on top of regular paper and a sheet of regular paper went through with it halfway through the print...uuughhhh! Since then I have just loaded a sheet at a time and get a paper jam message - I was able to print on regular paper and my t-shirt transfers (I did get all our travel shirts done! - I had fun making a villains and pirate night shirt!) Hopefully I will get the magnets to work!!!!

I would laugh, but then I'm thinking - Hummm...good idea, do I need to pack that too?:rotfl:

That's a GREAT idea! I have one from Starbucks this morning. I am bringing it!
:yay:

Do we have a day, time, and place for the ornament exchange? I also need the updated FE list and map.
Ok, I am going crazy. Working, sewing, and packing. I will get all of this completed by next week Thursday. I hope. Wish me luck.

I love the cup holder idea. I must go get a couple of those. I am sure I can carry them on the plane with my two other carry on bags. I also have two checked bags. I am going to need a stateroom just for my luggage.

We finally broke down and told the kids about the trip...it was getting to hard to keep the secret anymore. Plus, our youngest DD (10) kept asking when we were leaving for Grandma's House.

Our oldest DD was very excited :dance3:about the news, our oldest DS was happy...but our youngest DD was a very:sad1: unhappy girl. She doesn't want to miss grandmas house & she is afraid Santa won't find her on the ship. ;) I think, by the time she went to bed last night... she was feeling a little better about the idea.

The best part, is I now have helpers ...to get all the last minute things done. ;)Today we are going to put together our Fish Extender Gifts. :yay:

Hmmm. Some days I'm inclined to tell our DD, but we are still planning to wait until the night of the 16th. She thinks all the various stacks are just part of my "closet project" I hope!

Must be nice to have the stress of keeping the surprise over. :santa:
