Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

So now we need lanyards Fish extenders and a dining rotation!?
We booked a cruise because I don't want to have to think about anything! Seriously though I am kind of confused about FE's and lanyards. Please explain!

What date does everyones vacation start? We leave Dec 8th is that the earliest?
Also will the secret santa be organised by then as I am unsure if I will be able to get online once we leave.

Our Vacation starts on Dec. 17th when we leave for the airport in the morning. We'll be landing in Orlando about 1:35pm. So a short flight and time to chill before the meet later that night and the BIG day the next day!! :cool1:

Don't worry about a thing! You can be as worry-free as you like on the cruise! Most of us are just so excited that we like to have things like the FE to keep us busy with something to do to pass the time before the cruise. The lanyards are just those things that you wear around your neck to hold your Key to the World Card (many places use them for ID badges for employees). You also see them on a lot of people with pins tacked onto them to use during pin trading times (I've never done that). Because you wear them around your neck, placing a picture of our cruise logo (from the first page of this thread) in the holder with your card would make it easy for us to spot one another onboard.

The FE's are hanging crafts (usually a vertical rectangle shape) with pockets on the front. As a VOLUNTARY activity, you can sign-up to be part of the FE exchange, which would mean that at least once during the cruise, you would go around to the cabins of all of the others who have signed up here and leave a gift in their FE. They, in turn, will leave you gifts in your FE as well. You can make your gifts or purchase them just as you can make your FE or purchase it from a place like ebay or etsy. It's certainly not a required part of the cruise if it causes you stress! It's just a fun extra that some of us enjoy. :thumbsup2

I hope that helps ease your worries some! :goodvibes

For those interested, AG has free shipping right now through November 7. $50 min purchase. I wish. :rotfl2:

I calculated (did I say that? what a dork) how many patches we need -- if wearing every day, 4 patches per adult. Each box contains 4 patches. Several years back my MD miscalculated and when I went to the pharmacy to pick up my bill was over $600. I about croaked. Fortunately, the pharmacist helped me figure out what we really needed.

Anyway, I'm sooo excited. It's hard to concentrate on anything but cruise details!

We leave the evening of Dec. 17th. Picking the boys up from school and not telling them where we are going! This secret is huge...;)

We are booked on both scuba diving excursions Guadalupe and St. Thomas, has anyone else done these before, reviews?

Heads up...DCL added Christmas stuff to their gifts and amenities page. :santa:

But be forewarned: :eek::eek: The price points are enough to give Santa a heart attack!

I've been waiting to see these, so thanks for posting the note! I am disappointed because, with the exception of the trees, they're not Disney themed! I didn't even look at the prices when I didn't see Mickey anywhere! The trees are cute, but my boys wouldn't appreciate an all princess tree any more than our daughter would like an all Toy Story tree. I guess I'll be giving Shirley at The Perfect Gift a call! I've never used her before, but I've heard good things on the boards. Anyone have personal experience with her Christmas things???

On our August Med Cruise, we all printed off the logo (like from the start of this thread) and put it into our lanyard holder, so card showed on one side, DIS logo on the other. It helped..... :) We also personalized them with our real names and our DIS user names so people could figure out who was who. :) Seemed to work out well, IMHO :goodvibes

That is a really good idea! I never go anywhere without my lanyard!

Thank you so much for posting this! Is there a code you have to use? I have been waiting for free shipping to come back around to do my Christmas order...looks like now's the time!

Sarah - you can call but I have you on my list for DISers dinning late who want to all sit in the same area. I am going to request the PLA rotation for our group so if you want to different rotation let me know and I will take you off the list. I need more information from everyone so I was just getting ready to PM you. Look for it!

We are late also, would love to be included in this group if possible. Last time, we had the worst table-mates ever!

I want to do the volcano too! I didn't think there was a DCL sponsored trip.

So far, I haven't found a volcano excursion outside of DCL either. I am going to keep looking.... will let you know if I find anything! We are already snorkeling in Barbados - trying to do different things in each port although I am sure the rest of the family would be fine with doing "whatever" or "absolutely nothing", haha!

Just got a call from DCL. They cancelled our excursion on St. Maarten. Grandpa and 3princessgrandma were taking 2 of our granddaughters fishing. We had set up to have special excursions with each of our granddaughters. Will have to try something else. :-( The girls always want grandpa to take them fishing when they visit.

Does anyone know of any zip line excursions for the younger crowd? The only one I found was 12 and up. This would be for my 9 year old tomboy who really wanted to do Costa Rica for the ziplining but family vote yielded this trip. Thought I would surprise her with a substitute if I could :)
