Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Now, my question: Last cruises I requested dining rotations, for instance, APL for our seven day so we would be in Lumiere's on formal and Parrot Cay for pirate night. However, I have no idea how to figure this out for this trip. Can someone help me?

According to concierge the dinning rotations will be LAP, APL, & PLA. With the schedule for this cruise it will not work out to be in Lumiere's on formal night and Parrot Cay on pirate night. We would like to be in Lumiere's for formal night so we requested the PLA rotation. Hope this helps!

We have an elf too! I'm going to have the elf sent a gift basket (from Shirley) to them with treats as a surprise!

That's a good idea! I have an idea the elf will be making the trip with us and wreaking havoc in the room while we are out! ;)

The last two Christmas cruises we did not tell our sons about the cruise until the day we left for the cruise. When they came home from school I told them to look in the car. They found the car packed with our suitcases. I then asked them if they had any idea what we had planned. I then had each of them get together what they wanted as a carry on for the long plane ride. When we got in the car I had the DVD set up with a Christmas Disney DVD. Once we got to the airport we gave each of them a small gift that was another clue. It was of course another Disney item. When we were on the plane and seated and ready for to take off we then told them the big surpise. My boys were so excited. We then had the long over night flight to Orlando.

So frustrated!!:headache: I was just trying to book excursions and Palo and register the kids for the club....I hate that because we have two rooms we have two registrations...going back and forth was so confusing :confused:and in the process I realized they have the wrong birth date for one of my kids. Couldn't figure out how to change that. I have two questions....I didn't see where I could register my 15 year old..do we register teens? Also do they ever open more availability on the excursions? My husband only wanted to do the Sea Trek (I think that's what it's called) and it's not available...I shouldn't have waited but he was out of town all week and I wanted to do it together....Lesson learned...Sorry for the complaining and thanks for listening....:)

Eve,

If your reservations are linked you shouldn't have to go back and forth between the two, you should be able to book everyone using one reservation number. If your reservations don't come up this way you might want to make sure they are linked otherwise you might not be sitting together at dinner.

You do not have to register the teens before hand they just go to the stack whenever they want. On the first night there is a 411 get together that is a great way for them to meet other teens.

DCL does not put all the excursion & Palo openings online so there might be availibity once you get on board.

Hope all this helps out.

3princessmommy - glad you made it to the states safe and sound. Congrats on your promotion!:thumbsup2

tinkmischief - thanks so much for keeping the FE list updated.

Sarah is correct. Just make sure it's 3 days before the cruise not 3 days before the excursion.

Oh wow..glad I read that about the excursions!! Meemous and I were under the impression that even if you book the excursions but NOT go on the day scheduled, we wouldn't get charged. That's what people were telling us last year, Glad we really only booked 2 excursions so far this year, that we're ACTUALLY gonna do.

Just booked this cruise for me (Rick 60), Pat (younger than me), Kristy (DD, 17) and granddaughter Lydia, 10. This will be our 4th DCL cruise (7 nights on Magic, 10 and 4 on Wonder. The last longer (10 nights) cruise that we took on DCL was a treat as it seemed that even the crew was excited to be doing something a little different. It will be interesting to spend Christmas at sea this year!

I like the idea of formal night in Lumieres. How did you request it? Do I call the 800 number or can it be done online? Thanks for your help!

We have a DD (17) and a DD (10).;)

I agree, when you go to 'different ports' on the ship...the staff if just as excited as the guests. It makes it so much more fun. :)

One more question, maybe someone could answer. I requested access to the facebook page and the website a week or two ago and it is still showing awaiting membership confirmation. I posted on this thread that I just asked for access but I have a feeling I did it wrong. Was I suppose to PM someone? :confused3

So I was thinking - the Dis Meet n' Greet is on Day 2 (Time and place TBD - waiting on DCL to assign us a space) - but DDs would like to meet other kids their age as soon as we get on the ship. On our last cruise, I organized an informal kids' greet with Mickey Ice Cream bars by the Mickey pool after most folks boarded, but before the lifeboat drill. The kids all swam and got to kick of their vacation by meeting other kids in an easy and fun situation. It doesn't work for everyone because some folks board late or are still eating lunch, but the kids that did join in certainly had fun and met pals they hung out with for the rest of the cruise.

I'm happy to pull this together if anyone's interested in bringing your kids by the Mickey pool for some fun in the sun with Mickey bars at 3pm on boarding day.

What do you think? :confused3

Please send me a PM with your real name. I am trying to keep the Facebook page limited to those who are actually on the cruise. I have 12 requests that I don't have a DIS name to match.

Yes, it really made it much more exciting. You could feel the difference and that does add to the fun. I hope that will be the case this time as well.

Maybe Kristy and your DD will meet in The Stack. That's usually where she heads after tucking us into bed!

See... I knew I was doing it wrong. Thanks for the help!
