Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Good evening everybody!

After a great evening of trick-or-treating last night, I started Christmas planning in earnest today. I had a great day shopping and found what I hope to be a wonderful FE gift. :woohoo:

I guess at this point I would vote to split the group in two (I only bought 25 so far)- that way I can add more to the gift. Either way I will be happy. Should we PM someone about the vote? I am happy to help out, tinkmischief. Let me know what I can do to help you with the list.

I am awaiting our tropical holiday attire for the pirate party (in the mail) and measuring my rapidly growing boys for their tuxes. I am thinking that I will put up our winter house decorations over the next two weekends and refrain from very much true "Christmas decorating." I am going to use our advent calendar backwards this year as a 25 day countdown to the cruise.

So excited to get this party started. :santa:

Angie

I agree with you, Angie, any decision on the
FE gifts is ok with me. Although one time on the Panama Canal Repo we divided into teams, we still "gifted" every room, but there were maybe 3 staterooms on each team, so that the cost was less and the delivering was divided up too.

Does anyone know if the internet on the ship is quicker at certain times of the day vs. others? I do need to monitor work emails, and want to spend as little time as possible on the computer - will be frustrated if I am waiting for emails to download instead of lounging in the hot tub....
:scared1:

the fewer guests online the faster it goes.

Checked our cruise just now, they are selling 11's, 9's and 4's. This is different from earlier this morning. I am fascinated by the apparent randomness of it!

Because I travel internationally a few times a year with my company, it's fairly easy to just add international service to my iPhone for a month - and be able to check email on the fly. However, our cell phone people said it works differently on cruise ships and to just get the internet package, it was a much better way to go...so if they are not correct I'd like the option of just using my cell phone to monitor email. Is it that I'd pay AT&T international charges PLUS the internet fee on board? I was going to bring a lap top and just buy the $100 package (& let work pay for it); but sounds like that might be not enough if it's so slow. And since I seem to believe that pounding on computers speeds them up...I might destroy the laptop? But my understanding is the ship's computers don't have Word, Excel, etc. so I'd need my lap top to open attachments.

Yes, the ship's computers would only be for emails, facebook, google, stuff like that. Anything personal or work related or using Microsoft Office would need a personal computer, also be cause you'll want to save your work to your own personal computer. The ship's computers don't save.

Just a quick reminder... and an FYI to all our new folks (welcome, btw).

I will be doing name tags for everyone - please send me your DIS name and your real name if you want a specialized name tag. I realize that not everyone in your party will have both, so just let me know either way and I will make the name tag regardless.

Please PM your information as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, let me know, thanks!!!!

Wow, that "Magic after drydock" thread just keeps getting more disconcerting. I gotta quit reading it.

Um, I know what you mean. I need to stop reading, too. I am keeping my thoughts positive~after all, we will be on vacation in the sun & not snow. Since this is our first long Magic cruise (we've done 3 Wonder) I need to keep it in perspective...I am sure she will not disappoint!:)

Hi everyone!
I am still waiting for answers back from a few people before I can give an official count and break down of the age groups for the kids. It looks as though we have 58 cabins signed up. LeiLani has graciously offered to set up a poll to vote for/against the split so look for that to be posted soon. It is election day tomorrow after all:hippie: :rotfl:

This is how we're splitting up our 12/12 cruise also. There's 118 FE cabins on that one and several people have joined up in groups. Split or no split doesn't matter to us either- we have enough for everyone(well, once I get them done we will).

Hey everyone!
Currently updating the FE list thought I'd put out a quick last call notice :goodvibes
Numbers coming soon :rolleyes1

Liz signed us up for the FE.

When I think about bringing dozens, or scores, of anything on board, or receiving dozens, or scores, of surprise gifts, it starts sounding rather absurd.

I hope the FE will be broken down into smaller groups.

QUOTE=cquick;38801469]absolutely! We meet again! Post your picture so I remember you![/QUOTE]

I don't think we were ever able to meet up. Although Colorado Disney Freaks said you made it on board. We PM'ed each other a few times. I was the one that was suppose to go on the May 15th Med cruise with my daughter when she slipped into a coma for 5 weeks. We were able to rebook the cruise for Sept when her recovery looked good. We booked the Sept one only a few weeks before so we didn't make it into the FE or Private tours. You were very helpful and I appreciated that. Here's our pic.

BTW, If anyone was waiting to order the Cafepress personalized t-shirts from the first page or make your own. Groupon has a 50% off coupon today only. $25 for a $50 coupon. Sometimes being a procrastinator is good. :rotfl2: You can PM me for the link if you need it.

Okay, I'm not sure if you can do a poll within a thread so I am going to do this the old fashioned way. FE voting will start with this post and I will count the votes until mid-night on Sunday. If you have posted your vote prior to this post please vote again because I don't want to look back through postings to get votes.

I think the best way to keep track is either a yes split or no split vote. If you do not care either way, please refrain from voting(I sound so official don't I):)

As of right now, Melissa is showing a total of 60 cabins.

So, place your votes and I will let everyone know the verdict on Saturday!:surfweb:

Thanks everyone!

I thought I mailed in my ballot weeks ago! LOL just kidding.;)

No split

THanks!
