Lori, love the costumes. In this digital age, I still get chills over people being so enthusiatic about a book(s).

Joanne, Your daughters look adorable! And we promise not to call you "Snape" too often.

I just checked the ressie site and plugging in a family of 3, I only got Cat. 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11 as available. No 12, no 8 and no 7 or 6...

Earlier this week there were tons of Cat. 8's available when I checked. Just a few 6's and 7's.

What does this mean? DCL professional, help me interpret.

I know when I was booking excursions at the 75 day mark things would show closed, then open, then closed, then open, then ... I would check back occasionally and see if things are still closed. Maybe. I am just guessing here

Just thought I'd share what we received in our FE on the 10/17 cruise. There were 17 cabins.

We also got alot of recipe cards this time for some reason. Love to get them, but usually there's only 1 or 2. This time there were 5! I'm going to try to make Scottish shortbread at some point this holiday season.

I was also checking the rooms on the DCL site today.

Looks like it may reach a full ship, doesnt really surprise me, i think our other christmas cruises were also full. Cant wait to get our room number now. I read that the Dec 11th have started getting theirs so hopefully soon.

We received the photo mat and a marker as a FE gift in the ziplock bag. We took it to Guest Services and told them any characters that were available would be fine and it was returned to our stateroom the last night signed. I loved this, because I always forget to bring these things.

We are heading down for Fantasyfest in the AM... Magic will be into Key West on the 31st... We plan to walk down and get some pics during the morning bloodymary ritual

So looking forward to it and DH loves DCL--I think he loves watching the expressions on the kids faces the most, AND you will find him in the sports bar on several occasions catching the latest games.


I am sooo glad I found this group/board. It looks like some great families that I can't wait to get to know better. This is our first cruise without other family or friends. Thank you to those who are taking the time to organize these events. Please add me to the list: FE and Ornament Exchange.

I know I'm late to the party, but a couple of pages back there were lots of peeps weighing in on the FE group. Couple of thoughts on that...

There have been quite a few mentions of people being "left out" should we split the large group into two smaller ones. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nobody would actually be left out in that case, right? Everyone would still get to participate, just perhaps in two different groups? Am I understanding that wrong?

Also, we had set a Nov. 1st cut-off, I believe, to sign up for the FE group/groups. I wonder if it's possible if, after tinksmischief provides a final participating cabin count, we could set up a poll for voting so that nobody has to read through pages and pages of votes. Just a thought.

That said, though, my vote is for a split.

Several people have mentioned doing both groups if it is split, so maybe that's another option...split it into two groups, and everyone who wants to be in both groups can do so?

I think we should keep the group as one group. It is a longer cruise so it will be fun to get little gifts for a longer period of time. I know my son will love getting the gifts. The last cruise he loved looking for the gifts in his FE.

Can not remember who mentioned it earlier this week, but my mom and I went to the Tuesday Morning yesterday and did find the stocking FE's you were talking about!! They were WONDERFUL!! We got one for each room. Might get our names embroidered on them as well. They had a Christmas Tree, Santa, Reindeer, a Nutcracker...and I believe that's it. So just and FYI that they are here in lil ol' Mandeville, Louisiana. So if they're here, they're prolly everywhere!!

Just now DCL is showing availability for Cat. 12, 11, 9, 8, 7, 5 and 4. When I checked last night late it was the same as earlier yesterday (11, 10, 9, 5, 4) except Cat. 6 was open. I guess if you are looking to book you just have to watch or call constantly?
