Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

It was a very interesting results night Lisa. Talk to you about it tomorrow.

Wow! I cannot believe it. Audrina and Tony! I thought that they would be in the finals:-( Last night the judges were right about being speechless having Jennifer and Audrina in the bottom two. I wonder what will happen next week:confused:

Welcome Disneydash! Happy Wednesday everybody.

How many of your kids have Bieber fever? Tonight is his concert, and we have a full blown case of Bieber fever in our household.

We definitely have Bieber fever in our house. DD is so jealous! We went to see him in July and Sean Kingston was playing with him and it was a great concert. Yes, I went too!:cool1: I like his music and I really like Sean Kingston. We really liked one of his opening acts - Jessica Jarrell. Love her song "Almost Love 24-7".

Taylor Swift's new album came out yesterday too, so DD can't wait to check it out on itunes.

Another windy day here in the mid-west. And we heard the dreaded "s" word on the weather report for the first time this year.:cold: That's right that would be "snow". Just possible flurries but I really don't want to hear that yet.

Looks like bad weather is headed to the south and east today so everyone stay safe and have a great day!

No Bieber Fever here :cool1:

Stay safe and not blown away, folks. We had tornado watches yesterday, but it is calmer today by far.

You know, trying to remember, one of my books said something about Barbados shopping. Here is a link for Bridgetown:

With our stop on 12/23 that might be an option for pressie shopping as well.

We have Bieber fever as well. He cancelled his concert in our area and we were totally bummed out. Have to check out the new Taylor Swift album on ITunes. Hope it was an awesome concert.

Wow! Thanks! Unfortunately, I already ordered mine, so I can't use your services, but I'll keep you in mind when I panic and realize that I completely forgot something VERY important! :rotfl: I am so not crafty, but I love those machines. How hard are they to learn how to use???

I took a week long training class when we picked up the machine- I like to watch the machine because it's mesmerizing but digitizing a design on the computer- not so much. Words are fine but pictures are a challenge- so I get alot of those designs pre-done. I orginally wanted one of the Brother machines but DH came along and that "bigger and better" syndrome followed and we got a commercial grade machine that takes up half the office.:headache:

JoAnn- I got your PM. Let me look and see what I have and I'll PM you back after I run errands.

We got in after midnite last night with all of the weather delays. I may need a nap today! But I did finish Harry Potter 7 while waiting at the airport! Did I tell you I love my Kindle?!?:lovestruc

And I found a new dress for formal night- while we were in Oklahoma City. I had a little extra room in my roll-aboard so it came home with us(only mildly wrinkly) along with a couple of things from the new MAC cosmetics Villians line! I can't believe DH saw the MAC counter while we were looking for my department and remembered that I wanted to see the Villians stuff!:rotfl: They were out of most stuff but I got a Cruella eyeshadow, Evil Queen lipstick, and Maleficient lip glass.:yay:

I knew there was a reason I loved him!

Have a good one everyone!

Welcome Disney Dash -- that is great news!

Lori -- how fun with the MAC makeup. Good DH!

I think you explained somewhere, but how can I get HP on my Kindle? I was thinking of starting Book 7 again tonight. I haven't read it since it came out. Which leads me to digress to my greatest vacation ever - picked up HP7 just after midnight, drove to St. Louis the next day (4+ hrs) to stay with my friend who was taking us to the airport the next day at the crack of dawn to catch our flight to Jamaica. Finished (2nd go-round) HP6 on plane, landed in Jamaica and got to hotel in time for brunch. Spent next several days watching DD play in pool while I read HP7 with my mango mimosas and red stripe light. It was truly the most relaxed I've ever been. There was a group of sorts by the pool each day with their noses in that book. Even met a young man who'd left his new copy on the airplane on the way down -- I finished in time to pass it on to him. A long way of saying HP7 REALLY makes me smile.

Was thinking of downloading the Lord of the Rings trilogy for this trip. I have it, but thinking it would be great to have on the kindle.

Welcome Disney Dash - Great cruise at a great price!! Good info as well. My dh travels a lot, have to look into him staying at Marriott now!

Lori - Good find on the mac. Only now we may look like twins!!:rotfl:

Still a secret for the kiddos. How many more days?

Have a great & safe Halloween everyone... :3dglasses

We leave in the morning for WDW.. nothing like surprising kids at 4am :lmao:

I guess we will go home and pack tonight :rolleyes1:headache::hug:

51 days til VACA
:yay:

I must admit, DDs don't know who Justin Bieber is. I know the name, but have never heard the music. Guess we're safe for another month and a half...:rolleyes1

Taylor Swift is another story - Caitie just asked for her new CD. Although the benefit of living in Africa is that the only way Caitie knew there was a new Taylor Swift CD was because I read it on the DIS and asked if she wanted to add it to her Christmas wishlist. CD's/iTunes make for very easy packing on Christmas cruises...:thumbsup2

Well I am absolutely thrilled to say that we will be joining you all on December 18th!!! My DW keeps walking around the house muttering "I can't believe we are going on an 11 night cruise for Christmas" as visions of not cooking, cleaning up after or hauling around the kids dance in her head.

What makes this extra special is that our oldest DD missed our first cruise because of her college schedule. With her now in her first year of med school we know her availability will only become less over the next few years. So to have all seven of us together for a Disney cruise means a lot to my DW and I. Between the Florida resident rates and Marriott points, it was just meant to be.

Been catching up on the posts and I look forward to meeting you in December. Now I have a lot of research, planning and reservations to make over the next few days. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Great news, and I look forward to meeting you and your family.

I can relate to the not cooking and cleaning; especially with big family gatherings, it could be The Best Christmas Ever. One thing we will miss is our traditional Christmas Eve open house, but... maybe we need to start a new tradition! :santa:pirate:

Easy packing and safe travels, Mike and Amy ---> :goodvibes

A friend of DH's whom I coached getting his ressies is on Day 1 at WDW and I am loving the pictures he is posting every now and then on Face book :)

Thanks for all of the welcomes. Having covered over 130 pages of posts, I feel like I know many of you already.

Can't believe how the excitement level has skyrocketed in our family over the last 48 hours. Although we have not yet told our 6 year old DS because he would already be packed and ready to go. We will wait until December for him.

The biggest disadvantage to booking so late is that some of the excursions are already closed and the only time available at Palo is on the first night. Can't really see ourselves saying "Welcome aboard for our family vacation kids. Now Mom & I are going to eat by ourselves." Guess we will have to see what is available when we board.

We have survived the high winds and snow flurries of the morning. :thumbsup2 It made me smile realizing that I will be in a bathing suit snorkeling in less than 2 months. :cool1: (Actually- that's not true. I am not excited about the bathing suit part, just excited about the snorkeling part).

I also remember where I was when I purchased Harry Potter 7. I was on the Med Disney Cruise in Naples. My mom and I almost got killed trying to deal with the crazy drivers, but we persisted and walked the streets until I found a book store. Plenty of "English HP7" copies available since not many people in Italy want to read it in English! I now own both the British and English Version. Love that book...

OK- now questions about the FE. I have completed my fish extender and I'm amazingly psyched about how it turned out. Now I want to start thinking about the gifts. I know that we are waiting until Nov 1 for a final count, but it seems to me that at most only a few more will add to the list. Are there any good thoughts on whether we split the list? I have never done this before. My first instinct is to include everyone...but what am I going to do when my children each have 50+ gifts to bring home???:scared1:

I am so excited to start planning the FE gift. If anyone is ready to make a decision on splitting the group or not, please come forward. Am I ordering 50 something or 20 something? Thanks again to tinkmischief who has been keeping this list. Awesome Job! :worship:

Thanks, Angie

My vote is to include everyone! My DD had the most wonderful time last Christmas with the FE! She would check outside our door every 5 minutes and couldn't wait to get back to the room to see if anything had been left for us. She would absolutely flip if she were to find 50 gifts over the course of the cruise!

Welcome disneydash and congratulations on scoring such an awesome trip (not to mention nice accomodations) for an incredible price with your Marriott points! :thumbsup2

Disneydash-I'll bet you can get palo on board. I'm hoping to get a brunch date...we booked too late for that.

Question on FE's, some one mentioned a gift for each person in each cabin? I thought it was one gift per cabin? Help, I'm confused. :confused3

Thanks!!! Fun to hear the HP7 stories! Tell us where you were....

Oh and Mike and Amy and lucky kids -- Have a FANTASTIC trip!!!!

I am fine either way, so I'll go with the group decision. I do agree, however, that I'd like to know sooner rather than later so that I can move along with my gifts! I've been waiting to know how many/much to buy!
:thumbsup2
