Magic Carpet back at Aladdin ?

Yes, I can confirm it. I was at the 6:20 show tonight (Sunday) and was quite pleasantly surprised to see the Magic Carpet again. The Genie was also fantastic!

This just made my whole week. I was one of the fools that did not see the show until after the carpet incident..I am SO excited to see this now for our trip! I seriously will go to the show just for the genie - never fails to impress and every time we go it's a new "show". Thanks for the confirmation and hope you are enjoying your time there ! :thumbsup2

Glad to help! Yes, I'm having a wonderful time. Carsland is fantastic (this was my first time seeing it) and the weather has been perfect. Enjoy your trip!

Oh how exciting. We actually were there on Carsland opening weekend..ironically we did not plan it that way..our trip was planned months before the opening date was announced. It was a madhouse but very cool to be there for a new land opening and an incredible way to kick off our year as AP holders.

Definitely ride RSR at night if you can..it's a whole new experience !

:cheer2: Yipee!! That is great news!!

The show just isnt the same without the magic carpet scenes!

This is great - we never did see the magic carpet as we were there last March - so that will be another new thing to look forward to.

It sounds like it came back the day I was in DCA! I told my mom I didn't want to see it because it wasn't the same without the carpet. So we didn't! :rotfl:

In fairness, she uses an ECV for the parks and can't handle stairs, so we probably would've been on the lower level, so the carpet wouldn't have been very interesting from our spot anyway. But I thought it was funny! Next time, I guess!

Oh yay! Just when I thought I would never see it!

What did they do instead? Just not do the scene at all? I've never been to DCA (or seen the show) so I have no idea!

OK, I obviously missed it. What was the carpet incident?

When we were there in late Sept. 2011, Aladin and Jasmine got stuck hanging upside down from the ceiling by their feet. (I'm assuming this is the last time the carpet flew?) Every time we listen to Disney music in the car, and "whole new world" comes on, DS3 says "Aladin and Jasmine stuck upside down!"

The worst possible thing you could imagine them doing for a year and a half. They just had the actors sing offstage until the middle of the song while the same camel and wonders of the world were walked around below on stage/in the audience that used to walk around while the carpet was flying. Without the actors actually flying on the carpet overhead, it made no sense at all.

Very cool.

I've actually seen the show twice, but never seen the carpet...

July 2011 we were in the first couple of rows, which was neat, but I had no idea we'd be unable to see the flying carpet.

July 2012 the carpet was grounded.

Guess I have a reason to see the show a third time... like I needed a reason, it's the best live show at DLR.

Ack! We just missed it when we were there last week. :sad2: I had seen it once before the carpet broke but the rest of the family hadn't. We actually saw the show twice (my mother came one day) and got two different genies with varying great jokes.
