Do you have one? Do you even use the thing?

MIL got us the "Deluxe Magic Bullet" for Christmas. I am totally not a blender-type of person. I have one already, and in all of the years that I have had it, I have never used it other than to make milkshakes.

What the heck do you actually make in a Magic Bullet?

I can tell you that I will never make guacamole in a Magic Bullet. I can't see myself making homemade salsa. We don't like frozen drinks. Alfredo sauce is made by Classico in this house.

Dh seems to only want it because we have it, not to use it.

If you have one, would you recommend us keeping it, or taking it back?

We had the regular magic bullet a few years ago, I ended up taking it back, didn't like it.
but I have to admit, I was watching the infomercial for the latest magic bullet, the one that looks like a food processor and I almost ordered it :)

The only thing we use ours for is smoothies. It gets used a lot-bananas, yogurt, frozen berries-anything. They're very healthy and very good.

It's not so good at chopping veggies-some gets pulverized while some stays unchopped.

Ugh, but then you have to wash the thing!

It might be going back to the store.

My kids wash ours- goes right in the dishwasher after you rinse it. The blade and the cups can go in.

My brother gave us one. I asked for but now I am not sure what to do with it either.
Please, share you uses & recipes for us Magic Bullet newbies.

it does grind whole coffee beans well, makes good individual smoothies but other than that it sits in the cupboard.. Have had it for at least two years... don't use it much

DD has really wanted one for some time and even DVR'd the infomercial which she has watched many times!!! So for her b-day in Oct., one of her presents was the Magic Bullet.
We've made smoothies, whip cream, chocolate mousse, and chocolate chip muffins. It all goes into the dishwasher so clean up is simple! Easy to use, easy to clean. And both kids love using it.

DD wanted one for Christmas too, she got it and has been making everything in the fridge into something or other.
First it was banana, icecream, smoothie....then she cooked peas and put ham in and milk, making pea soup WHIPPIE.....

Now she is out making salsa, you need cherry tomatoes, we tried chopping Rome, got mushy. Second batch is going now. Not so great, I like my homemade much better. I think it whips to small....not chop like my processor that I use for salsa.

But, I do have to say the infomercials can sell anything, and teen girls must be a target market.

I know a couple who have a Magic Bullet, and they went through two of them in a year! Seems to break pretty easily. And they used it for salsa, frozen drinks, etc.

Got one for Christmas 2 years ago and have never used it. I would love some recipies.

I've had mine over two years and love it. We mostly make smoothies with it. It's easy clean up and I don't have to worry about storing extra smoothie like I did when I used the blender. Dh also uses it to make his protein shakes.

I made whipped cream last night for berries.....I've also made smoothies and iced mochas.

I make hummus in mine all summer, when the basil is growing. Chick peas, onion, garlic, basil, chicken stock. I also make salsa, fruit shakes (milk, strawberries, bananas and ice). I grind up chicken, rice and fat free chicken stock for my foster kittens, when they have problems. Very easy to clean.

Whipped cream!
I've also made homemade baby food, including cereal (ran out of baby oatmeal, so I just took some plain oatmeal and ground it up fine. I've also mixed formula in it.
I just got the Magic Bullet Express for this Christmas and I'm excited about using it. I am terrified of mandolins (I almost sliced a fingertip off) so this will allow me to precisely cut veggies!

You know, this thread is freakin' hysterical if you think of something else that is also called a magic bullet.

My son the hunter was very interested in a "magic bullet" until he realized it was for the kitchen. Of course, he'll be happy to consume and even concoct things for it. He very mechanically inclined except when it comes to loading the dishwasher. Come to think of it, he has trouble unloading the dishwasher also. :confused3
