Magic behind the steam trains tour

DH loves the WDW Railroad, and wants to do this tour. Has anyone done it and if so, can you tell me a bit about it?

We had a great time overall-my dad is the big fan, but my mom and I had fun as well. Our guide was a bit long winded, but he told many great stories about Walt Disney, his friends and family.

We started with a discussion, then boarded the train and made our way back to the round house. This was the coolest part-you see the train round house, the monorails are up above, and you get a close look at the backstage areas of the MK. We also climbed up on the steam train to feel how hot it was for the conductor. You ride back to Main Street USA and talk a little while longer and ask questions.

You will get to see an empty MK and Main Street-some good photo ops. You also get a commemorative pin for taking part in the tour as well.

That sounds great. I think we will do this! He has wanted to do it everytime we go, but never does. I think I will make ressies! Thanks for the info!

Just beware, there has been mention on these boards recently that this tour will be suspended after April 30 for a few months due to some of the expansion construction. Some have indicated that they were able to make reservations starting again in August.
