I know they aren’t included anymore but when looking at them to buy for my reservation some say “pre-arrival exclusive”. Those appear to be some of the fancy options but what does it mean by pre-arrival? If you order them don’t they still all get mailed to your home “pre-arrival”. What’s that distinction refer to? Thx

It means you can order those MBs before you arrive at WDW, at the price offered in the listing.
Those particular MBs may or may not be available for purchase on-site and/or at the price shown.

WE have old magic bands that are still activated, how long does the battery last in them and is there a way to check them before hand?

Old MBs last (basically) forever for all of the functions that require a "tap" on the "access point"
(which is to say NEARLY ALL important functions at WDW.)
Park entry, "FP-type" uses, resort doors, discounts (when available) etc.
(The MB's battery is NOT USED for any of the above functions.)

The battery is basically not needed except maybe (MAYBE) to trigger the on-ride photos/videos
of a very select few ride attractions.
There is no way to check the battery.
