I am on someone else reservation(they are the lead). They are going to use their Iphone as their pass and I would still like to use magic bands. How do I get one? Do I just buy one from the Disney store or shop Disney and sync it to my MDE. TIA

If you already have a MagicBand from previous trips, then it will work for your next trip. If not, then you can buy one from shopdisney.com or at the resort gift shop on arrival. You can also request a key card at the front desk and that will also work just like a MagicBand.

Can you get a keycard and have magic bands active? I received an email for my upcoming trip and I think it wants me to choose.

The lead can still purchase you a magic band through their reservation. Cost is $5 for standard colors and price goes up for special editions and themed bands.

But isn't it an "everyone or no one" purchase? Meaning everyone on the reservation must purchase a MB or no one gets one. At least that's how it worked when the plain bands were free.

No, each person can choose if they want to buy one or not.
How? When a friend needed two MBs out of 4 guests on the reservation, the system would not complete the sale unless everyone on the reservation had one selected. I mean, it wasn;t a big deal, still cheaper than paying full price for two MBs, but he did have to buy all 4. two people in my room out of 7 needed bands, and it also wanted me to buy new oned for eveyone. The two that needed them wound up buying them separately.

You need to select a band for those who want one and select decline for those who don't, then check out. If I remember correctly.

I remember there used to be a decline option. But I don't see it now.

Do I need to go to the CM’s at the BLT lobby to make sure are Magic bands are active if we dont get the cards?
I've never needed to have the front desk do anything in order to re-use old MagicBands. You do need to use them on the room door before they will work on other gates/doors around the resort.

Go to the individual's ordering page and under their name is a decline option....it is very small

Ah. OK there it is. It used to be in a different spot. I hate when they reorganize stuff I am used to using. My bank did than and I had to call them to figure out where my statements moved to.

Thanks.
