Do I have to use them? My kids will NOT like wearing things on their wrists. Can I just keep them in my purse like their annual passes?

You can still have room keys, and other media using Disney's RFID technology without having a band.

All Disney Resort Guests will be issued MagicBands by default. As Bill said, you can still use a KTTW card. During the test phase, they are issuing KTTW cards along with the MagicBands. Once the test phase is over, you can request a KTTW card once you check-in at the resort.

Just as an FYI, they are VERY comfortable. I have forgotten I was wearing mine.

And you can bling them up. Lots of slides, covers, etc. in the resort gift shop.
