Do you get a new Magic band with DVC stays as you do with regular resort stays?

Yes you do with every reservation you make for yourself, but you can also decline it in you MDE or customize it for each trip.

One year with our Magic Bands we received an accessory that said "DVC Member" we could add to our magic bands. We have booked other trips since then but we have not received it any other time. Can you still get the accessory and if so how?

No, they no longer make the DVC sliders.

To piggyback off this question - if you have a split stay, do you get two sets of magic bands? How would that then work with tickets - can you link a 5 day ticket to two different reservations?

Yes, both reservations would be eligible to receive MagicBands.

Your tickets are not linked to a specific reservation, they are linked to an person in MDE.

Decline one set if you don’t want two for one trip. That’s what I did. Every Magic Band you have that is “active” will have your tickets on it. The only way to make them “inactive” is if you go in and mark them as such.

How does this affect room access for split stays? Just curious as we haven't done split stays since magic bands started being used to open resort room doors and such.

It doesn’t affect access. MBs connect to MDE. Entrance to the room connects to MDE. The MB will access the second room’s door.

Unless there’s a glitch. If there is, go to the front desk.

We accepted the 2nd magic band on our last split stay, just as a back-up. Which I almost needed.

But if you do lose a band, you can just go to the front desk of the resort and ask for a replacement.

My Disney Experience is the key to all of it. Your tickets are linked to you in MDE. Your room reservation is linked to you in MDE. Your MB are linked to you in MDE and access the other information that is linked to you in MDE. So any active MB's you have linked to you can access your park ticket entitlements and they can access your rooms (assuming no glitches).

Gah, I wish I would've known we could get another. My 4 year old lost his this summer and we bought him one somewhere else when we realized it was gone.

I saved the sliders and happy that I did because evidentially that are not distributing them anymore.:(
