Magic Bands - Which Resorts So Far?

We are renting points at AKL starting Sep22 and just received our magic bands in the mail today.

I hope the Magic Bands aren't mandatory in the future. I hate wearing a watch or anything on my wrist. Hopefull it always remains an option, and after seeing them in action, and how dopey they look on someones arm, yeah, PLEASE make this just an option and NOT mandatory! .02

I have become friendly with one of the cast members that at this time is only working with the bands and any problems that might arise. (yes, I had problems...lol)
She told me by Nov all the hotels will have the bands

Only if on cash ressie, DVC points not included in current testing, I actually thought it was CR only. Friends we are traveling with (we are here tight now) are using their points for a split stay BLT/AKV and are not included. We are cash AKL and are loving the FP+ and magic bands!

There's been posts int he DVC section from DVC people testing... and I've got a friend going later this week and is on points at BLT & AKV and is testing, I lucked out and have not gotten the request to test when I go in less than 2 weeks. I asked her if she was indeed testing for both resorts and she said yes.

Some threads on dvc forums suggested that at least some bcv and one of the akl dvc was also part of test, even on points, and some even were offered the mb and fp+ even if just renting points for those.

I just got an invitation via UPS to participate in the Magic+ testing. We arrive late Sept. at the BCV and we're staying on our own points. We switch to the BWV later in our stay (all linked on My Disney Experience) and I was able to make FP+ reservations for the entire trip. I don't know if my wristband will unlock our BWV villa or if it will be useful for charging after we leave BCV. But I'm excited to try the bands and schedule our FPs in advance.
