MAGIC BANDS? when can you order?

Is there a time frame on when you can start linking a Magic Band to your reservation?

Disney just enabled December arrivals for MyMagic+ (MagicBands & FastPass+). For January and later arrivals, there is no word on when MyMagic+ will be available.
 
Eventually, the window will be 60 days before check in. For the past few months they have been holding back check ins for the next month and then opening them all at once. So, for example, even though many December check ins were within their 60 day mark they did not have access to the system until a couple of nights ago. At the time anyone within 60 days got access. Those with December check ins who are not within 60 days will have access at that point.

It remains to be seen whether January 1st check ins will get access to the system at their 60 day mark or if January will be held like the last few months have been. If they are held, they will probably get access in mid-to-late November.
 
Ok so a friend of mine and his family is going dec 21st. So they are at 64 days till arrival. It's still not giving him the option to customize bands or select FP+ is that b/c they are not within 60 days of arrival?
 

I thought you had to be "invited" to try the magic bands / FP+ thing?! Are they past the invitation only stage now so that anybody can use them? (We go in January...still trying to figure out if we will be able to get them or not...)
 
We added an extra day in Jan due to a better flight home. Caused us to have a Jan 5 check in date. We can customize for that leg also. Not sure if this is due to being linked to the rest of the trip from Dec?

Great question. We're at SSR for 6 nights beginning Nov 29 and I don't know what I'm supposed to do. :(

The invites aren't sent out until about 28 days from arrival. Everyone that has a resort stay is eligible regardless of what they may say on the phones.

Ironically, I received an email inviting me to customize MagicBands for my November VGF stay early this afternoon, shortly after I picked up said MagicBands from the local UPS facility following an unsuccessful delivery attempt yesterday.

I was wondering if all resort guests were elgible for MB and FP+. We are going Dec 28 and I was wondering if I needed to start trying to figure out how things worked. I also need to buy my AP's so I can link them. Are the AP's on the MB's or separate?

Which resort are you staying at? Only those resorts who have them will get them. I think by January, that should be all of them though. I know even OKW has them now.

Definitely get and link your APs now! I had limited choices for FP+ times already for the week before Christmas. Your AP will be on your magic band if you link it.
 
:cool1:Make sure you all have everything linked,dining ,park tickets...also i learned that since im dvc i had two seperate log ons, the it department had to link my dvc and walt disney worl acct together and all in your party accepeted your invite, after all that i got my six bands all loaded and ready to go , also 3 have seperate tickets and 3 of us have annuall passes GOOD LUCK
 
on the My Disney Experience web page it says my MB will be sent out on 10/31 for my trip first week in December. I only have a voucher card for my APs to be picked up when we get down there. Is there a way of linking them, I've tried, or do I just wait until I get down there.

Diane - this is just a quickie trip over the long MLK weekend (had to re-book and travel on our Delta flights from our canceled DL/Aulani trip before Jan. 27th) so we just snagged a std. studio at Jambo House to try to conserve points. Do you think AKV has the Magic Bands? :confused3

I think I have done all I can do for now. I went to MDE and entered our AP numbers, our DVC ressie # and made 2 ADR's that I think are all linked in there together. LOL. Of course that was several weeks ago now so I don't remember HOW I did all of it. :rotfl:

I am really not sure we will like the MB's (with only 3 FP+ per day in only 1 park) but at the same time I don't want to be left out either! :lmao:
 
Finally decided today to link our APs to our hotel reservation in MDE. It seemed to go without any problems; yet, when the screen shows the linked tickets, only 2 out of 4 are showing.

I tried to make FP+ for one day as a trial, and it says that it is good for a FPass for 4, so I am wondering if we are all in the system even though only 2 show on the MDE screen. (If I tried to link again, I get a message that the AP is already linked to a reservation.)

Our arrival is November 20 (and we did not get an invitation), but I was able to order and customize bands (it said today, Oct 20 was the last day to customize), so it appears you must allow a month to order and get the bands. (??) When I was speaking to Disney ticketing yesterday, the CM was all ready to help me with the Magic Band ordering, but I declined at that point. When I spoke with DVC Member Services today and asked about ordering Magic Bands, the CM asked if I had received an invitation. I told her no, but that I had received conflicting information because just yesterday, the Ticketing was saying I could order bands and that all resorts would be in the testing phase by my arrival in November.

Only one of our APs will still be valid for the next trip--so a big question I have is how to link it to the "next" reservation in March.

Oh, and we did the FP+ for the BOG lunch--hope that helps the wait!
 
I check into OKW 12/28. Just checked and I am able to personalize my magic bands. I have not received an email.

I ordered/personalized my MagicBand when I first saw it on the screen. And they shipped it. The email and snail mail invitation arrived on the same day that my MagicBand was delivered. Go ahead and customize when you can see the screen.
