Was nice to have everything on the magic band (room key, charging, AP linked to it, FP+ and so on).

The only thing I didn't enjoy was that you are limited to 3 FP+ in one day in one park.

We like to park hop so this didn't work out great for us. We have AP's so I like to hop around. The other day we were at Magic Kingdom and used our 3 FP+ before noon. Then we went to the Studios to have lunch. We were going to get in the standby lines for Tower or Star Tours but those lines were 30-45 minutes. It would have been nice if I could have got a FP+ for sometime that afternoon for one of those but could not since we used them all at MK.

I hope they adjust this in the future. I think they will not sell as many park hoppers if people cannot get FP+ in multiple parks in the same day. Or more than 3.

Other than that we had no problems with the bands, they worked every time we needed to use them for something.

We are AP holders also and like to hop around. I am worried that the SB wait times are going to be huge by the time we get to our second park. Could you save a FP for an additional park, or are you limited to one park per day? Or do have to schedule all 3 at once?

I've not tried to do 2 in one park and 1 in a different park. Disney says 3 in one park in one day.

Someone suggested to SB in the mornings at RD, then use your FP+ for the second park in the afternoon. But I guess it depends which park for which rides/attractions.....

I don't think they will ever let you do more than one park. The only way that would work, using their current thinking, is if they tiered the four parks together. Otherwise, people would be getting one headliner here, one there, etc. Plus, I don't think they want people to park hop.

If that is the case, do you think Disney will stop selling park hoppers since they do not want their guests to do so?

We did that yesterday at DHS. Went to Toy Story at rope drop and waited 5 minutes in stand by line. Then Star Tours in standby. Used FP+ at Rock N Roller and Tower. Didn't have a 3rd FP+ because we had to go to the airport to come home.

If I was not an AP holder I would probably not buy the park hopper option.

For my upcoming trip I pre booked my fastpasses for after lunch, we are rope drop people so we will hit one park early, do what we want then head out to our second park where my FP+ is. Hope it works out for us, but I will say it has been a breeze planning this trip on my phone, no hang ups with the app at all. I hope it is this way when we are there in a month..

That sounds like a great plan.

I had problems with the app. It kept locking up and saying to try again later and so on. I also found the wait times to not be accurate. Monday Tower said it was a 20 minute wait but the posted sign at the ride entrance said 45. Seems like the app was always the last to be updated with the current wait times.

Please update how this works out for you.

We are from the UK and our tix allow us to parkhop-in fact we didn't even know there were restrictions of some folks tickets when we first came.
Can't imagine only visiting 1 park a day,for all our vacation-however we don't do long lines-or out ALL day.
Still undecided how to plan ahead for our trip in August.

We'll be watching...

At your second park, use the kiosks to get your additional FP. The app doesn't work for this, but almost no one seems to know that you can get additional FP if you go directly to the kiosks once you are actually in the second park. (Caveat - this was two weeks ago, things can change very quickly.)

I thought about doing that, or using my actual AP to go to the kiosk but I would have felt guilty and didn't want to cheet the system.

I think most people like, or are at least okay with, the magic bands.

It's the FP+ that's causing the dissatisfaction

Yep, That's what I did the last trip with FP+, basically I split my day in 3.

Morning = EMH morning park / Rope drop, (ride high traffic rides)
After Lunch = FP+ at another park (ride high traffic rides with FP+)
Dinner = EMH night park where available, or just simple attractions. (ride lower traffic for the evening, and if EMH, ride higher traffic)

Worked like a charm with no issues and still got everything done without any problems. Of course... I travel solo :P so its kinda easier to be agile and move around lol.

Honestly, If you are crafty fast paced and quick to move, are happy to ride single rider were available you can actually do all 4 parks in 1 day and do most of the good rides quite easily (Ive done it multiple times) Even before FP+ I actually realized I didn't even need to use FP to make it all work out if you get all your timings right.

I dunno. They sure they price them high enough right now, so not sure where they are going with them. It adds up especially for a family.

OTOH, if they wanted people to park-hop, wouldn't they make park-hopping free?

I'm not referring to the old legacy FP kiosks, I'm talking about the FP+ kiosks, which are now all that's left. So this is part of the system, it's not cheeting (sic).

I wish it could be used between different parks as well. We are planning to do two parks per day, and our Fastpass+ will be used for the afternoon park. We figure we will get to the first park by opening time and we can hit all the major attractions first before the wait times get longer.

REALLY?? Does this work only if you have used all of your 3 FP+ in the morning park?

That's a very good question, and just one of several where some research would be helpful. Sorry I can't tell you for certain.
