Magic Bands question

Can someone tell me the benefit to purchasing magic bands if you are staying off property? I was told it is nice to have them if you are purchasing the Memory Maker (mainly for pictures taken while you are on a ride). We are a family of 5 with older kids (19-17-13). Should we do the bands or not? Thanks for the help.

We are off site only people and love Magic Bands. It's just personal preference. I don't want to have to dig in my pocket for my ticket every time, nor do I want to wear some lanyard around my neck. The MB just makes life simple for me.

Memory Maker ride photos are probably the biggest reason to get them as you won't get the ride photos otherwise. There are also some ride videos.

FP+ would be another reason for me. It's just easier to put your wrist up and scan than to pull your ticket card out from a pocket. Especially for some of us girls who don't always have pockets and would need a lanyard or somewhere to keep said card.

I can't think of any other reasons to have them.

Exact same reason as those that stay on site minus paying for items and using it as hotel room key.

No need to dig for your card for park entrance or FP's. You don't need a MB but it is convenient

If you get memory Maker, it would be worth having the MB. Onsite, I love it for having room key, park pass, charging and memory Maker, and my FP all together. Fewer things to carry or keep track of.

Its nice to not have to keep track of tickets every time you enter a park, use a FP+, and for ride photos.
Its really just up to you whether you think its worth the money for the convenience.

I wouldn't bother buying a MB for an offsite trip. I've literally never "dug" anywhere for a ticket. If it's in a wallet as I approach the place where I'll need it I simple get my wallet and take it out. Easy.

But then I *like* lanyards. I think they are fun. My ravenclaw lanyard is supersoft, and my hard plastic waterproof Witz brand "see it safe" case can carry several cards and some cash easily. And it has never once come off or tried to, unlike MBs.

Lanyards to me are much cuter than toddler-like plastic bangle bracelets.
