We are heading down in a couple weeks and have stripped the outside of the magic bands off and put them on our kids today and I have to say I feel a tad skeptical that these won't come off during the trip. I do see they sell a thing called Bit Bands that will apparently secure them on your child better.

Obviously I don't want to spend money on something I don't need but if anyone has taken little kids (ours 3 & 4) to Disney, I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences with toddlers/pre-schoolers and magic bands.

Our MB were delivered six (really closer to seven) weeks ago. As soon as I opened the box my three year old wanted to put it on and it stayed on her wrist for the last six weeks. We went to Disney, we went to the beach, she wore it in the ocean, she bathed with it on, she wore it in the pool, she slept with it on, she put it through everything you would expect a three year old to put it through. Last night right before bed the little prongs that snap in place broke off while she was changing into pajamas. I'd say for everything that band went through in the last six weeks, it's tough. Not once did it accidentally fall off.

Good question! I hope they stay on my kids, but only for the 6 days we're there. Sounds pretty tough.

They stayed on my two year olds fine last year, no problems at the parks or swimming. I was actually surprised how well they stayed on (they did give us these slider things that helped keep them on).

Our 12 year old DD managed to lose her band in the line for SM last year. Luckily she saw it on the ground when she got on the ride and we had to find a CM to retrieve it for us.

Last year my 2 & 4 year old wore them all week and never had a problem. I was worried as well that they would fall off, but they didn't.

Is it still the case that MB's are only shipped to US residents only and other guests pick them up when checking in?

My kids have worn them twice now and we haven't had any problems with them.

Even if one of them is lost, you can get a free grey replacement from the front desk or purchase a colored one just about anywhere. Then go on your MDE account, deactivate the lost band & link the replacement band.

Hehe, thanks yes. I was aware of that. :) BUT, if I tried to replace my little 3 years old's pink band with the grey one they would replace it with you cannot imagine the commotion. I try not to be indulgent, but she is in love with this pink band. Looks like I would be purchasing a new colored one.

My 3 year Old DD loved hers and it stayed on our entire trip in early June. This is the same DD that is notorious for losing almost any article of jewelry she ever gets because she always has to fidget with it. She seemed to understand the significant importance of "touching mickeys" everyday to make the magic happen. By the end of the trip she was paying for meals and scanning for our photo pass photos. One time a Kilamanjaro Safari's due to a big crowd at the fast pass return they were only scanning one persons MB for your entire party. Her brother beat her to the CM and she almost had a meltdown over that. I know there are plenty of adults who despise the MB's but they are a huge hit for little princesses IMO.
