Magic Bands info for the new test dates in August

Maybe because you are so close to check in date they mailed them directly to the resort. You can call IT and they can tell you were they shipped to.

I got an email saying mine shipped, there is no longer any shipping information on the site, but the tracking number is coming here.

Also, my BIL who did not previously have a MDE account, got his UPS "invitation" delivered to my house today. I had all the stuff for the trip sent to me because I'm the coordintating the whole trip. I got their MBs set up today.

Does anyone know how I can BECOME the manager for my sister's account?

She has an account and traveling with us, but she doesn't like to plan so I would setup her FP+ and magic bands for her family.

Do you know her login and password? You could just log in as her, from your computer. (maybe)

My DM doesn't "do computers", so we set up an account for her on our computer. At first, she didn't have an account so I just had her as family that travels with us. I was able to include her in ADR & link her AP to her name. However, we have a room reserved in her name and I had to set up an account for her in order to use online check-in.

I will see if I get the email in a couple of week. I will report back. I really think still no one really know for sure. But this is just my guess. I think if you have access than you are part of the test group that is my 2 cents.

Unfortunately, he said that doesn't necessarily mean that you will be guaranteed to be part of the test. You must receive the email.

To get the bonus fast pass I took the preselected choices for MK, got POTC, then went back and changed all the preselected choices to MY choices. Don't know if there is an easier way but a few other posters have said that's how they got their bonus FP.

I'm guessing that isn't the case. I think what happened is the first day I made FP reservations there wasn't as many MK selections. I went in yesterday and there was a lot more. I pulled my extra FP by choosing them not the pre-select. I think this may be the norm now being able to get a bonus for the MK.

Then why would disney spend thousands of dollars on shipping MBs that won't be used? I know for us there is NO advantage of having a MB unless we can use FP+ too.

I know...it makes no sense. I mentioned to the tech guy that people were getting magicbands shipped to them without receiving an email. He was adamant that it did not mean that those people were necessarily part of the test.

That's true. I keep forgetting that. It just feels like it's all about the fastpass right now.

I fully expect to be receiving my email/UPS letter on Monday. My BIL is arriving a day before us on a RO ressie and we got the letter for their group today at 17 days out.

My account now shows that my MB's shipped and I have a tracking number. All 5 MBs associated with my account show active. So, I'm guessing that even though *I* haven't received the email or package yet, we will also be testing.

I logged into my mom's account today and was also able to customize her MBs.

Our group is arriving between Aug 6th and Aug 8th.

There are many uses for the MagicBand that do not include FP+.

Besides if you have magic bands you'd have to get regular cards for FP- (if you weren't part of the test) further making the bands useless without FP+.

I never said I won't get the email. But I was told the same info as you. I'm just saying who knows if it is correct. It isn't like Disney has never given out false info before. My DME also states my kids aren't eligible for MB but they did ship out.

Lets face it Disney don't give out the most reliable info. They can't even send out resort conformations.

I wanted to be sure because I haven't received an email that we were invited but on MDE I was asked to customize our Magic Bands and make FP+ selections. I also expressed some concern about how well the system works and she reminded me that I can opt out any time while we are there if we don't like it. She als confirmed that you can use regular FP on any days you don't make FP+ selections. I asked how that would work with the Magic Bands but she pointed out that all Magic Band testers also get KTTW cards since many places (like TS restaurants) don't accept Magic Bands for payments yet. Maybe this was obvious for some but obviously not for me.

I just wanted to share what I was told.

Also, if you are on the dining plan, you can use your magicband instead of your card for purchases.

Well, my DD is pretty excited to get hers in pink!

Not sure what your point about SAB is, but I do agree that those with bands will still need KTTW cards to access certain locations, including SAB and the 5th floor CL.
Are you saying the band is useless unless it gets you in to the pool?

I'm hoping that everyone who gets to choose fastpasses and customize their magicbands will get to use them for fastpasses next month.

I don't necessarily think that what the tech people are saying are wrong, but I think the information that they receive keeps changing. If I call back about this next week, I will probably be told something different.
