Magic Bands Inactive/active

I logged in and noticed that each person in our family has two Magic Bands active. But - we've never had magic bands. We haven't stayed onsite for five years - well before Magic Bands started. (But we have stayed at Dolphin - so maybe that did it?) We have another trip coming up in October. Am I correct in presuming that the other Magic Bands are somehow from older trips and we'll get a third one online closer to our trip? Our other ones all said active so I changed them all to inactive because I didn't know if having all those active would mess anything up.

You can have a bunch as active so no need to deactivate them unless you're throwing them away. You'll get new magic bands if you're staying on site.

The area of MDE, MagicBands and Cards, shows hard, plastic tickets that were originally linked to your MDE account. The system may just be noting these Cards if you've never had MBs.

So if a bunch can be active, am I correct in presuming that the info linked to our account doesn't put it on one specific band - that it's more a link the full account? That way, all our info will be linked to the bands we'll actually get before our next trip?

My cards show up as cards (though it could still be a fluke in the system).

I've made it a habit to deactivate all of my family's bands from older trips.

Nothing is ever ON the bands. They are just a key that access your MDE account where everything is stored. So whatever you link to your MDE will be read by the band. Some people have 15+ bands active as their interchangeable and you can wear one color one day and another the next

Yeah, the bands are "identifiers" to your account - all the information is stored on the servers (including your "fingerprint" for the tapstyles) not the band itself which is just a glorified ID tag.
