This will be our first trip using the magic bands, so we wondered.......do you leave them on all the time? Does it hurt to shower or swim with them? Can you wear them in the hot tub? Thanks!!!

The magic band is your key to the restrooms at night among many other things. We shower, swim, sleep, and have gone in the hot tubs wearing our magic bands it doesn't hurt to wear them all the time. You can wear them as much or as little as you want!! Have a great trip!!:smickey:

If it helps, my six year old hates to wear jewelry of any kind and she never complained about her magic band. We painted it for her and she loved it.

I'm not sure if I should mention this since it is perhaps getting kind of yucky, but our. 8 year old has had his magic band on since our trip in October. Doesn't seem to fall off... Lol. He MAY have taken it off once one day since trip...I think we really need to get him to take it off...:crazy2:

Its going to be interesting to see if my grandchildren(3 & 6) will keep these bands on.
My grandson was turning three around the time that we took him. He has autism and does not like to be touched. We thought there was NO WAY he was going to wear the magic band. Well, he still has it on a year later and refuses to take it off! If you try he gets upset and says Disney, I ride Dumbo! He will be returning to Disney in a few weeks. Interested to see if he will change to the new band.

When we were there in November 2014, I took mine off one night (as I went to get a shower) but I had usually kept it on. Not sure why I took it off. Next morning when going to the park we caught the bus from the 1400 loop to the Marina to get the ferry. It was then that I realized that I had forgot to put my band back on. So my DW and 2 DD's waited. I caught the Orange bus back to the 600 Loop because it was there just getting ready to pull out. At the 600 loop there is a bridge across the stream to get over to the 1400 loop. Got my band, then walked out to the Yellow Bus route but started to walk back to the Marina. Ok, I started to "RUN" back to the Marina to try and meet up with the family (We were going for RD). I managed to make it in time to meet up with them, but it took me a few minutes to get my breath back. I guess I got my exercise that day.

Just for "Perspective" I know it's difficult to see in my Avatar Picture, but I am a big guy and not really streamlined for running, but I did ok that day. :)

Hated when week was over and I had to take it off. Ugh. Actually I did drive back to Baltimore with it on.

I thought they were kind of stylish and not at all unappealing. I have to say, however, that I almost lost my band while wearing it on the "Manta" at Sea World. The bar that holds you in (Very snuggly particularly when you are my size) and my wrist was rubbing against the bar. It managed to undo the clip/nub/connector (whatever you call it). I was able to grab it though and hold onto it before it fell.
