Hi - our April, 2020 trip was cancelled due to the Park Covid Closure. I had ordered Magic Bands and also purchased a special one for my grandson. Can I use these Magic Bands for our future trip in late December of this year. How do they link our newer park passes and Magical Express reservation to these April magic bands. We have about ten active bands each in My Disney Experience. Will the latest bands be linked and should I deactivate our old bands so there is no confusion. I'm seriously considering purchasing new bands to avoid confusion but this seems like a waste of money. I hope this is not too confusing. Please help - Thank you

If you can see the MagicBand in your MDE app, and it's linked to your account, the tickets should be associated w/ any MB you have. Between my DW and myself we have over 20 MBs. We wear a new one each day we visit the park. All of our PhotoPasses and charges show up no matter which one we use. I don't think you'll have a problem, provided you can see the serial number in your MDE profiles!

Thank you - Yes I see the Magic Bands in my MDE app and I guess its linked to my account. I do see the serial numbers in my MDE profile. It must be magic how they know which band you are using for each trip☺

MagicBands are attached to your account, not any particular stay. So any MagicBand you have can be used on any trip.

However, having too many active MagicBands on your account can apparently cause problems, according to Disney. I don't know how many is "too many," but people have reported issues of MagicBands not working and being told by Disney they had too many active at the same time.

Disney advises that you deactivate bands that you no longer plan to use. If you change your mind later, you can always reactivate a band.

Question for all of you..... we have magic bands from our 2020 Covid cancelled trip ( never used). We are going in September..... can I link those bands to our current reservations , or will they no longer work ?

As long as they appear on the "MagicBands and Cards" page of MDE and are marked as "Active", you can use them for any upcoming trip.

Read my post right above yours - MagicBands are attached to your account, not any specific reservation. You don't link them to reservations.

Magicbands are an encrypted number and an encryption key. That's all they are. No more. No less. Once they are tied to an account (yours), they verify that everything (information) on the backend servers belongs to the person with that MB.

Supposedly, the concurrency limit has been raised to a fairly high level. My guess would be 256, but that's just a guess based on some information I know. One thing that is true, is that unless it's changed, once a MB has been deactivated, it cannot be reactivated into the system again. I'm even more certain this remains true for G1 bands.

I just tested this, and the Activate option is still there for inactive bands at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/bands-cards/ . It let me reactivate both G1 and G2 bands. I logged out then back in again, and the newly reactivated bands still show as Active.
