So we are traveling in Sept and we have received our magic bands! Can anyone tell me why they send a magic band for a 1 year old? She doesn't nee a park ticket and I doubt she will be opening the resort door! so my question is why d they send them? Honestly I'm just curious and would love some input!! Thanks everyone

The send it so the little ones don't feel left out! Some of the little ones can feel really left out when they don't get to tap their mickey etc. Also they don't really look at the age. My nephew loved to open the doors when he was 2.5 so it was great that he had his own band. Plus he would have thrown a fit if his older siblings (10 and 13 at the time) had a cool mickey band and he didn't.

Same as PP. My DS (2.5) loved having one. He thought opening the room door was the best and demanded to scan his band at the gate and FP scan points too. Thankfully the cast members were all very accommodating and let him scan in too.

And if you have an in-room babysitter during your trip, the infant having a MB is a way to provide you with a room key for the sitter without you having to give up your own.

We were in line with a lady with a very small child who had a magic band. Their older child had accidentally locked them all out without their own bands, but the little one was able to let them in!

My son will turn 1 the week before our trip, i just know he will not like having anything on his arm.

This should be interesting.

I agree with pp, it's mostly so they don't feel left out. My 2 year old would throw a fit if her older sister had one and she didn't.

Can anyone tell me if a 2 year old will have memory maker attached to her band? We are meeting DS, DDIL, and DGD down there. There will be times that mommy and daddy will do rides and grammy and pop pop will take her to meet the princesses or go on other rides. DS is on our family and friends list but couldn't figure out how to put on DDIL and DGD. I didn't think anything was attached to the under 3yr band. Glad to see that it will open the door.

It is so they don't feel left out. My 10 mo. old didn't care during our last trip and she didn't wear her band. However, if she were nearly 3, she likely would have.

There will be no admission attached to her band but I believe if there is Memory Maker linked to the MDE account that her band is under then it should work - similar to how it opens the room door.
