Magic Bands fall off?

I moved my arm in such a way that the bar you can hold on the restraint for RnR popped it off. They do make me nervous near the end of long trips (around day 8 or 9), they seem to easy to get on an off. I need to mention that I have never worn a watch or anything on my wrist so I find it extremely uncomfortable and I'm most likely excessively putting it on and off.

I use my Magic Bands as a cable holders/organizers/tie. :)

Here's what I'm talking about...

See, I was hoping you would have pictures of how you use them as cable holders/organizers/tie.

This thread is from 2013

:)

And some of the things talked about early on aren't a problem now, since they have bitbands (unless disney shut them down), etc etc. There are things to do now that weren't options at the beginning.

I gave her one of my magic band sliders. Our wrists are super tiny, like kids size, so if you put the slider on the opposite side you can cram some of the extra band in there, and it really holds it on tightly. I told her, it ain't falling off now.

There's no reason to have that much extra band; take the grey part off! Kid sized wrists means you take off the excess. If you like the grey accent, just cut the excess and then file it down to be smooth.

And you don't have the unthinking, instinctive, way of moving the arm/wrist to keep it from catching. I'm kinda like you, and I don't know why you're *wearing* the band at all.

I do know about that, thank you. I did that with the first band I had, and did not like it that way. I was very sorry I did it. It was not as secure, and it was too difficult for me to put it on my wrist by myself. I like having that excess, and I like it tucked up into my slider. It's secure and and it was way more comfortable on my wrist for me that way, thanks.

Cool. Many people don't realize you can take off the grey and/or cut off the excess length. Glad you know!

Mine never fell off, but I did manage to lose one last year! Went to the bathroom and put it on Mum's scooter and that was the last I saw of it. Oops!

I lost mine while holding my 14 month old on my lap during The Country Bear Jamboree. I didn't notice it until I went to use my fastpass at The Haunted Mansion. We back tracked and luckily someone found it at TCBJ and turned it in.

No problem and We have them at Wave pool at typhoon lagoon (the tsunami pool dixit My Sister lol)

We were doing the speed walk from the IG entrance of Epcot to Soarin' last month when someone behind us yelled "hey, who lost a red bracelet?" Others then joined in and a big guy well ahead of us stopped, felt his wrist and started back to get his Magicband. We've not had any problems in our group, but it is clear to me that they can fall off!

We never had a problem with it, and I have a child who fiddled with it all day every day. And it seemed like everyone was wearing them in the pool, which would seem iffy to me, but apparently it's not too much of an issue.

Even with the slider mine is constantly popping off. I have multiple bands but the same popping off problem. What would happen is that the band would rotate on my wrist and out of the slider overlap area. Backpacks are deadly to magic bands. Once when I was in line for Pirates of the Caribbean the band spontaneously popped off and flew unseen under a trash can. Everyone in my area in line was helping to look for it and none of us could figure out how it simply dematerialized until someone finally saw it under the can legs.

I find that mine is stiff for the first day or so, and more likely to pop off. The longer I wear it, the more it molds to your wrist.

Same band nearly every day for 3 months (at least 3 full days a week), never a problem. Maybe 8 half-day trips to water parks included in that. Didn't sleep in it, but was taking it on and off more often than the average guest I would think.

Bandits however... worst thing ever! Popped off constantly, sometimes I would realize it, 4 times I didn't. AKA I no longer have any and won't be buying them again. Wish they made as many varieties of sliders as Bandits.

Same here, never had a problem with magic bands anywhere...but I've definitely lost a couple pairs of sunglasses in wave pool at TL :cool2:

I had no issues with mine. DH had one tiny issue with his. When we first went out of the launch on Space Mountain his popped off. He said he could see it floating in front of his face. Thankfully, he was able to grab it before it was gone. It is a funny story though!

In 2014 my DS, who was almost 4 at this time, lost his green magic band in the Magic Kingdom on day 6 of an 8 day trip. We went to guest services and they deactivated the green one and gave him a grey one....which he lost the next day at Epcot. At that point, it was our last day and we weren't going to anymore parks after Epcot so we didn't bother getting another replacement. That was our first and only trip to WDW since the magic bands because we were in DL last year. We are going back to WDW this April and I'm going to take some of the precautions you guys have mentioned regarding securing the bands.
