Magic Bands came today - they are NOT the newer ones

Can't remember which forum we were talking about this on, but folks were wondering when Disney would start sending the newer Magic Band (the big-faced ones). Supposedly beginning in January. But our trip is January 4, so they might mean they will start shipping in January for trips 3 weeks out of that? Who knows, just wanted to say we got the regular ones,

I got MBs for my split stay (Jan. 5-6, 6-10) and they're the current MBs - not the big-faced ones - as well.

Yeah I understood it to mean they will start being sent out in January, not that they would start being sent to people who's trip is IN January.

I am hoping that they begin shipping in January. I have to decide on mine by January 6th for my February trip. I hoping that if I hold out until then, I might get the new ones. Hoping!

I received mine today for arrival Jan 2, not the big ones and I am glad. I wear the band on the same wrist as a watch so do not want the bigger ones.

they didn't tell me any date for resort bands, just that AP would be first and eventually resort bands would switch to them as well.

We go February 5th, honestly I don't care which ones we get. If we get the new ones and I don't like them I'll just use one from a previous trip. Glad I have that option.

I just got my AP magic band today and it is also not the new design. I like the old design, so I'm good with that.

yeah I'm pretty sure they are going to run down the stock and once a color goes, that color is mb2. that's how they switched to the last design change about a year ago.

Yep, we still have certain, less popular colors of the first version - the thicker, stiffer material - in some of our ticket booths. Yellow and orange are the ones that are hanging around the longest.

screw out but yes they come out and the accessories I saw in person were 3 different keychains (1 generic, 2 were mickey and minnie heads) and then there was a carabiner. The accessories come with a little screw driver so you can immediately remove the icon and put it what you purchased. I was all for the Carabiner but the generic keychain was tiny and I think I might go that route (local so I will have keys with me and this lets me suddenly just show up and have it).

I was wondering if they will be giving AP slides for annual pass magic bands in 2017. Did they send you an AP slide with your magic band?

Me too! I am not a fan for me or the kids. Ours was shipped out a few days ago so I am happy to be getting the "old" style.
