Strange. We were there in November of 2019 and January of 2020, and used our MBs to open our room doors and charge our food and drink. The resort did not supply MBs, but they definitely worked if you brought your own. It appears that VB uses the same room door and room charge technology as the WDW locations. In fact, the printed receipts all carry the same “Disney Parks” logo at the top and contain a parks email address. Also, the VB reservations appear in the My Disney Experience app just like WDW resort reservations.
