Magic Bands and Waitlists

I had November 16th-23rd booked at BCV in a 1-bedroom. Our flight changed, and we had to fly back the next day, the 24th, so I booked a night at AKV and waitlisted BCV-1 bedroom.

I had NO hope that the saturday before Thanksgiving I would have a waitlist come through, so I went ahead and customized our Magic Bands, and kind of forgot about it. I also customized for our AKV stay.

Our waitlist came through! On a whim, at around 8:00 pm I decided to check MDE, and make sure our bands were still there and they were NOT! When the waitlist came through it erased our customizations, so I had to go back and redo it. It was saying on the website that it was the last day I could customize.

SO! if your waitlist comes through, make sure you check on your magic bands, otherwise you might be stuck with the standard issued grey ones (sad trombone)

I had an AP reservation for Nov 10 to 15 with a DVC waitlist. I customized my bands and they were shipped. Right after that, the waitlist came through and when I linked that reservation on MDE, it came up to customize again. I put it through again and now I have two - a blue one and a pink one. We'll see if they both work! I linked my DVC reservation before I cancelled the AP reservation and it kept my FP+ choices.

They both will - probably. I ended up with 3 bands and all of them worked at OKW which wasn't even using Magic Bands at the time. However - the one I had gotten for my BCV reservation and the only one they verified when I checked in there was the only one that would not open the door. But the other 2 I had received for cancelled reservation worked fine! Rather ironic I thought. Because I was only there 2 nights I didn't bother to do anything about the non-working band other than verify that MDE still saw it as active which it did. So bring both your bands and at least one ought to work.
