This will be the second time my granddaughters will be going to Disney. They are six. My question is: Since they will be in strollers do they scan their magic band and have to scan their finger? Or do they just scan their bands? They are both Autistic and keeping them in a stroller gives us piece of mind.

I know kids don't use the finger scanner. I'm pretty certain they do have to scan the band for the ticket (my kids thought it was fun, so I don't have experience with trying not to). I would think you could take their band off temporarily and scan the Mickey, then put it back on the kids.

Kids don't do the finger scan but everyone 3 and over needs to use a ticket/magic band and the tapstyles to enter. An adult pushing the stroller can do this for the child by tapping their MB while they sit if they choose not to get up and to it.

Alternately you can get a plastic ticket for the child (in addition to the MB) and carry that in case the child doesn't want to tap themselves or give you the band.

FYI - make sure the kids do not do the finger scan on your first entrance to a park. Kids don't have to, but for some reason on our first day the cm at the tapstiles had our 4 year old do it. Then we were stuck doing it everywhere for the rest of the trip. Minor inconvenience, but kind of a pain to get him to line it up right, and remember which finger to use. All week the CMs kept telling him NOT to do the finger scan, and every single time the Mickey head wouldn't turn green until he did.

Thank you, about not having them do their finger the first time. They will probably want to at least tap their band like mommy and grandma.

Not exactly the same issue but an FYI in case anyone else needs the information...

My mother is in a wheelchair and is not always of sound mind (see how nicely I put that?). Per cast member instructions, we scan her band and then use our fIngerscan.

My 3-year-old is autistic and doesn't like anything on her wrist. I just wear one on each wrist and scan both when we go in.
