Magic bands and carry on luggage question

I wasn't sure where to post this question- here or on the Theme Park planning board?

Has anyone had trouble with security for packing magic bands in their carry on bag/luggage? I don't really want to pack them in my checked in luggage unless absolutely necessary.

I put mine in my purse, no problem. I don't see why they would be a security issue.

I have a carryon I take with me on the plane (backpack) that carries all the stuff I never want to check (electronics, camera equipment, etc) - I just put the magic band in there and ran it through the x-ray scanner.

If you're using the Disney Magical Express you need to have it with you anyway when you get off the plane as they'll scan that to get you registered!

You can wear the Magic Bands instead of putting them in baggage that might possibly have to be checked or gate checked.

Not having your Magic Band on hand will not prevent you from riding Magical Express.

You don't need the MB for DME, you can use the booklet they send you. I wouldn't put the MB in checked bags, what if you want to use them and the bags are lost.

We did carry on only for our March trip a few weeks ago. I had our magic bands inside my personal item both going down there and coming home. We had no issues at all with TSA.

Just FYI: We had three MBs and they fit perfectly inside a Vera Bradley hard sided sunglass case.

WE have also traveled with our MB twice now OP - they are fine.

Generally speaking liquids can't be over 3.4oz and laptops have to be out of your bag but most other items one would usually bring are fine. Check the official website for the TSA at TSA.gov for the most up to date info on clearing security, packing your checked and carry on bag.

Also wanted to say the sun glass case idea is Great! I have a few I can use and that would be much more convenient and pleasant than the zip locks bags we had been using.
