Magic Bands — A Few Questions

I am really not sure if I set up our Magic Bands correctly? My first issue was my husband’s didn’t seem to be linked with mine and our three boys. I ended up creating a separate account for him and sent him an invite. This seemed to work, and allowed me to add our credit card to his band, but was it necessary for us to both have separate accounts?

Also, 2 of our 5 bands say “MagicBand Pending” and the other three (including mine) say “MagicBand Pending”, but then say “Decline MagicBand” underneath it. Why is there a difference? Are some set up properly and not others? We had an issue with our bands when we first arrived on our last trip in 2017, and I’m trying to avoid that this time.

Which account has tickets?
When I book it’s all under my MDE and our magic bands for our trip are customized there.
When I added fancy magic bands I followed the directions and it linked to the correct person in my MDE account.

The “decline MB” is if you already have a band linked, you can decline the new one for the upcoming trip.

My account has the tickets. I thought, perhaps, I had to set an account up for my husband because he was over 18? His band wasn’t linking and it kept saying “send invitation”.

We all have previous MB’s from our last trip, so why do they not all give the option to decline an MB? Is it because my husband’s is under a new account? I may have set a new one up for one of our boys??

I’d suggest calling IT tomorrow. I had an issue with my husband’s ticket not showing up and it was because he had, at some point in the last 17 years, made a MDE account (even though all our trips had had no problems up until this one). They had to delete his account and then it showed up. I think the app and website are all messed up.

Thank you! I plan to do that. It seems to make the most sense rather than muddle through and try to figure it out on my own.

1) No, it wasn't necessary for you to both have separate accounts, however, it will work just fine that way.

2) If you have chosen Colors and the text for the back of two, and not for the others, that might be the difference. If some members have MB from a previous trip, and others do not, that may be the difference, OR, there may be no difference at all, and what you are seeing is just one of the many glitches on the My Disney Experience website / app.

3) Issues can, and will happen. The entirety of My Disney Experience is quirky. Odd things happen all the time. There is little use in trying to second guess what might go wrong with the system, or why it might go wrong.

Piggybacking on this same topic...my husband and I have MB’s from two years ago and they both show active. Our trip next month will include our 3 adult children (oxymoron??). I purchased and linked all our tickets that were purchased from a broker. Does that mean I can use either my ticket pass or my MB? Or do I have to sync up the ticket to my MB at Disney?

If you see both the ticket and the MB under your name on MDE, then it’s good and you can use them interchangeably.

His old MB shows under his newly created account. The account in my name shows my MB, and our boys’ Magicbands.

We chose colors for all of them and we all have MB’s from our previous trip.

It sounds like it may be set up just fine? Should I simply disregard the “Decline Magic Band” on the ones that give that option, since we all do want to receive new ones for this trip?

You can safely disregard the option to decline, and you will all get your new MB.
