Good afternoon everyone,

We are looking to go to the world next March break (secretely hoping for free dining ). We haven't been on site since they started the magic band. My question is, if we buy a vacation package willwe receive our magic band through mail or do we get them ounce we check in our resort ???

Magicbands cannot be shipped out of the US, so any guests from out of the US would receive them at check-in. Hope that helps!

Thx , it does.

I just thoguth of something else, last year we linked our park tickets ( bought through UT) to Me to make our FP+. But since we will not have any tickets when we make our reservation, can I still make our FP+ selection using our # reservations ?

Thank you for response it is much appreciated

No. You absolutely need your tickets entered in MDE to make your FP+ selections and you will be allowed to make FP+ reservations only for the number of days you have on your tickets. The only thing your onsite reservation gives you is that you can make your FP+ selections 60 days prior check-in vs 30 days if you don't stay onsite.

Isabellea is correct but I just want to clarify. If you are purchasing a package through Disney as you said in your first post, especially if you are able to score free dining, then you will have to purchase tickets. Your tickets will then be linked to your MDE automatically, thus, enabling you to make your fp+ selections once your 60 window opens.

I hope this helps

It kind of sort of helps. So if I buy a package through disney , they will send me tickets. That way I will be able to reserve my fast pass +. Once I will be at the resort doing my check in, the CM will then link the tickets to the MB...

Did I get it right

Not exactly..when you buy a package that includes tickets from Disney, you are buying virtual tickets at the same time your reservation is made. You will not receive any hard copies of tickets at any time. When you link your reservation number to your MDE account, you will see your tickets. You can then assign them accordingly and at the 60 day mark, make your fp+ selections. Don't forget to customize your MB's online as well so you don't end up with the standard grey ones.

Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Magic bands are not shipped out of the USA and you will get them at the front desk upon check in.
On your journey to WDW things will be on paper rather than what you might see in a YouTube video where people use their Magic Band, such as using a paper reservation when boarding the magical express.
When it comes to the fastpass selections make sure your tickets are linked to your reservation( if you bought them on the Disney website they will go automatically). Then once you are within the time period to make selection go to your "my Disney experience" section of the Disney website and select fastpass +.
And to make selections you select whatever day, the park and the attractions you want to ride.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but don't count on getting Free Dining in March. It is typically only offered in the Fall, and dates are becoming fewer.

We've had free dining in both January (2010) & February (2012) ;) - but not on a March trip...

Edit to add --- Just was able to find my trip notes from our Feb 2012 trip, we booked Oct 28/11 and had the choice between free dining or the Extra Magical day promo of one free night with park tix. There was free dining in March that year - my notes show free dining offered
1/8/12-3/29/12 that trip. - These were not pin offers - but general public offers :)

Free dining as well in both August & September.

The promo they have been releasing the last couple of years for winter/spring is Stay/Play/Dine. This means adults are charged child prices but no free dining.

We had FD in 2013 in the first week of March, wich was Quebec's Spring break, but it was a PIN that was sent in the mail on December 31th, (nice way to end the year).
