I was looking online at the 50th anniversary MagicBand and it comes with a slider. I have never had a slider before. Are you able to slide it on either side of the band? The picture shows it covering some of Dumbo. I would rather put it on the other side.

ETA: Never mind, I think I found my answer which is no.

I have a collection of sliders. You can put them on either side of the band no problem. They flex enough to go over the pins on the side with them.

A related question - does the slider still fit just as well after removing the outer gray part to make the band smaller? My wife and kids take the outer part off and we were wondering if that makes it looser or anything. I kind of want to get the 50th Anniversary Band more for that slider than the band itself.

This band actually fits better with the slider on the side with the holes poking out. It just fell off my band on the smooth end.

It wont' fit as well if remove outer gray part to make band smaller. My wife has had issues with hers. Have to be careful when remove band slider can slide off easily. If do, put it on side with pins sticking out. That will help it from sliding off as easily.

We just cut our kids band with scissors to length instead of pulling the gray part off.
