Not sure if this is the right place to ask this...

I ordered my Magic Bands on December 8th and received a shipment notification from Disney on December 10th. I recall something about allowing 10 days for receipt, and while I can't recall if that's business or calendar days, I am a bit concerned about my shipping status (see below). It's been like this since the 10th and hasn't changed. I emailed Disney and was told that I'd have to call internet support since there were too many security concerns to help me via email. So, I called internet support, waited for someone in silence (odd when the don't have the normal Disney hold music) for close to 10 minutes, and she couldn't figure out what was going on. She tried to transfer me to a different support group, but said they couldn't take my call right now and told her they would have to reach out via email at a future time. I don't have a lot of confidence in any of this right now.

We're not going until early February, so we've got time, but I paid for nicer bands as a treat that I was hoping to gift to the family for Christmas. I've had issues with bands in the past, but never this. It's like Disney made the shipping label for them, but hasn't done anything more. I'm sure BWV can supply us with plain gray bands upon check in if we never get these, but then we get into having money reimbursed...and since plain bands are no longer complimentary, I have no idea if they'll still charge me for the gray.

Any thoughts?

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered bands last week for a January trip and am having the same issue. The tracking info doesn't provide a history or a delivery date, but I have noticed that it updates where it is. A few days ago, it is being waited for in Florida, now it's being waited for in Illinois. So it's moving. I've had this issue with other items through the mail recently, so I wouldn't panic yet.

That's encouraging. I know shipping is extra crazy this year, so hopefully that's all this is. I'm hoping to see some movement on mine soon.

My MB shipments have always been some level of a little screwy/illogical, it seems. OP, I’ve seen numerous posts such as yours around lately. My guess is it’s a combo of Disney’s already weird MB timing and holiday delays with shipping companies (which is a very real thing). And throw in some 2020 screwiness for good measure. :-)

Yeah...nothing ever seems to go flawlessly with the shipment. For my last trip, they sent them to my old address. To this day, they can't figure out why, as the new address from 2017 was everywhere across the system. They assumed that there may be some hidden programming that told it to shift to ship to an old address. Not exactly a confidence booster.

I ordered mine and it has said waiting for packaging for 3 days now with the postal service. Hopefully they make it in time. Kinda defeats the purpose of buying specific ones if Disney can't get them to me in time.

There are so many delays and issues with USPS now. It’s all over the news how bad. I mailed a priority box from Indiana to Arizona. Sat at Indianapolis distribution center almost a week. Took 1.5 weeks to get there arriving a week after it was supposed to. My son has a box from NC that has been stuck in Cincinnati for a week!

Ours have been sitting in IL for days now....went from FL to GA to IL (we're in TN). Guess we'll see what happens but know all the shipping providers are a hot mess in general.

That specific tracking information usually means that DHL has your package and the USPS tracking won’t update until it reaches a local post office or the nearest hub to you. A lot of companies are moving towards using DHL as the initial shipment method, and DHL has moved away from actual home delivery. They pick up the package from the shipper and then deliver it to the local USPS for final delivery. I’ve had a few things ship this way this year and there would actually be 2 tracking numbers for that package. One for DHL and one for USPS.

I guess at the very least, I know that my issue isn't a unique one. I know USPS has been having issues for months and the holidays have only exacerbated those problems. Hopefully all of our MBs arrive without too many issues.

My magic bands shipped on November 29th. I have had this same tracking message since December 2:

I have some picked up from Davenport, FL yesterday. Curious to see where they end up next. 🤣
Mine as well. Interested to see if they make it. If not here in a few days I'll get a refund. Also not sure why Disney uses the USPS and not a shipping company, or that they wait until this close to your trip. I guess I'll just chalk it up to another Disney fail.

Also not sure why Disney uses the USPS and not a shipping company,
Simple it teduces costs of shipping just like why Amazon uses USPS for delivery where they have not already moved to their own contracted service driving Prime vans.

Also using the USPS keeps the USPS system alive since they get money for their part of the shipping process.

I can see that, but the USPS is the most unreliable shipping company and when they mess an order up is 100% Disney that looks bad since they are the ones that control who the shipper is. I personally haven't used USPS because of how poor the service is.

No way can you blame Disney for the USPS delays. Sadly with Covid all shipping carriers having issues- I’ve had with UPS, USPS and FedEx.

Exactly! Every single carrier is having issues. The volumes this year due to Covid are incredible. The only blame I can put on Disney is if they're still holding the package. It's not uncommon for companies/sellers to make labels and then have lag time between label creation and getting it to the shipping firm. This happens to me with Ebay and Etsy sellers all the time. Most recently, I had an Etsy seller create a label, and then wait over a week to get it in the mail because she had an unexpected death in her friend circle. I even have it happening with something I bought on Amazon. A Fed Ex label was created on Dec 9th, but Fed Ex is still waiting on the package for shipment. That's my main worry with my MBs. I've had enough of these "label created/waiting on package" situations over the years where things never made it out.

I guess there's really nothing else to do but sit, wait, hope for the best, and then reach out to Disney in a couple of weeks if nothing ever arrives.

I got my MagicBands today. The shipping information never updated and poof! In my mailbox! Keep hope alive, people!
