magic band question

Out of curiosity, how have others received their magic bands? I've seen folks get them in nice disney themed boxes and the bands laid out and marked nicely. Well, we got ours today in a white box and all of the bands are wrapped around a piece of black cardboard and the colors aren't even associated to the correct names. I know it's small in comparison, but I'm curious on this is the new thing, or is the presentation based on where you're staying? We're staying in the Caribbean beach resort.

Curious, did you get the "new" style band or is it the current style?

What you describe has not been the norm from my experience.

We received the new style box for our trip that's coming up in 13 days. The new box looks like this:



and the older box was big and bulky, with an Incredibles design, and the bands arrived looking like this (I thought I had a pic of the box, I guess I don't! Sorry!):



The change was made recently, in an effort to cut down on all the extra packaging. We didn't have any issues with our new box, or the bands being the correct color. It is a smaller box, and there is less waste, which I appreciate, but I can see how it might not be as nice if you're planning to wrap them as gifts or something.

For the previous poster who asked, the new bands themselves are supposed to arrive for guests who have trips booked in January and after, we received the newer, thinner bands, but not the updated puck design.

You're welcome! The older boxes were much nicer in terms of presentation, I agree. I didn't really like the black cardboard tube thing in the new box. Even though I like that it's smaller now, I do wish it looked a little more special on the outside.

Have fun on your upcoming trip!!! We're so excited to see the park during the holidays for the first time. We're summer people usually.

Thanks @xlsm Appreciate the info. Must have just changed, we got our bands for our November trip just a few weeks ago. I'm glad the new packaging is a little less material, I've always thought it was a little wasteful!

Yes, the people in my December group have been getting the new packaging, so it's fairly recent, as of mid/late November band arrivals (shipping after 11/20ish, at least).
The new boxes are MUCH less wasteful, just a touch wider than the length of the luggage tags

I admit, I'm a little curious to see if the packaging will change again with the switch to the 2.0 style bands with pucks. Still not sure how I feel about those!
