Magic Band Question

So, I decorated my kids' Magic Bands. They came out nice, not as elaborate as I've seen some, but nice. I put two coats of clear nail polish. This morning I went to put them on the kids to see how it fit, looked, etc and noticed that it kinda started cracking. My guess is, they won't last the whole trip.

Is there a special kind of nail polis I should be using so it doesn't crack? Do I remove everything with nail polish remover and start all over again? UGH! In doing that, will it in anyway mess with the chip inside?
HELP!!
TIA,
Pippi

Every post that I've read on using nail polish on Magic Bands indicates that you should use clear base coat polish and not a top coat. Evidently, the top coat will crack.

I did use nailpolish with all different colors on each of our banks and multiple layers. They did develop small cracks, but nothing ever came off during our 5 day stay.

As soon as the nail polish dries. fasten the magic band where it will be fastened when worn; this reduces the cracking. I also have found it best to leave the clear coat off when possible.

Check out this thread. It answers all the questions you might have about decorating the bands. I am not a crafty person, but I think even I can do it with the expert help of this thread. :)

Now, there are over 200 pages to go through, but if you take the time, you will find through other's trial and error, the best way to decorate your bands. From what I have read, the only way to damage the RFID chip inside is to smash the band, so anything that you do to the outside should not impact the operation of the band itself.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Mel, how are you attaching the design to the band?

sorry Hon--I hope I didn't offend anyone.
Every time I see a post on this thread I think of the t-shirt design I made with the Magic Bands. I was just sharing my design. On a side note I am one of the few who can not wear the band due to sensitive skin-my exzema breaks out.
I do think it's a great idea to decorate them though,
Have fun
Hugs Mel
