Magic Band Question I Couldn't Find Answer To

Hi All

I went through the "Everything you need to know about Magic Bands" and couldn't find my question. Can we wear our magic bands to the airport/thru security? Wondering if this will cause a problem with TSA or even our bands. Has anyone done this before or did you just put them in your personal item bag that went thru the scanner?

we have not worn them but did put them in our carry on with no problems. we waited until we were close to landing to actually put them on.

You can wear the bands - you just have to remove them like you would a watch etc.

We wore ours through on the way home last September as our bags were already packed and we stopped by Epcot for a few more rides on the way to the airport. No problems.

Wore mine on the way back about a month ago. Completely forgot I had it on- I had no issues. We also got xpress security check so no taking off of coats, shoes, etc.

Yes you can wear them in the airport and through TSA.
I always wear mine.
If you're concerned though just put them in your carry on luggage.

We put ours on before we leave for the airport and don't take them off until we get home.

We didn't take them off for TSA either.

It's just an RFID tag... nothing to worry about...

There is very little metal in them and almost no steel. Even Disney World gate metal detectors don't sense them. TSA will probably yell to take them off, but that's just part of their script.

That said... If you end up in one of the backscatter x-ray scanners with your magicband on, I would be sure to take it off. It contains three separate radio antennae, none of them designed to receive x-ray but ... when you get a lot of something (like x-rays) it can sometimes be hard to ignore it. They seem really robust and I doubt it would cause problems but it can't hurt to be careful.

Always wear them through TSA security. Never removed them. No issues.
