Magic Band needed at resort gate?

Our daughter and her family will be arriving separately from us (they're driving). I'll have their magic bands with me. Do they need them to scan at the gate to resort?

If she is <18, then she will need to await your arrival.
Otherwise No, just make sure she has a copy of the reservation with her name listed on it.
If, she is older than 18 she can go ahead check-in at the front desk, get a temp MB, to use to get to the pools, and any other thing the MB is used for.

No, as long as they go through the line where a guard checks ID's rather than through the line that has the automated system where you use the band to raise the gate. For the guard check line they will simply need to say they are checking in, provide whose name the reservation is in, and show an ID. (Note, I assume you mean they are driving and not coming via Magical Express, for which they would not need to do anything at the gate.)

No, they don't need them. Just identification.

Once they have the bands, they can use them to get in at the gate.

Just wanted to note that I had trouble using a Magicband to open the gate when it had not yet been used to open the villa door. I used my Magicband to open the villa door and then later when I tried to use DH's Magicband to open the gate it would not work. I was told it was because it had not been used to open the room door. I don't know if this is true, but that is what I was told.
