Magic Band Inventory Question

I only have a few days left to order my Magic Bands online, however there is very little selection available to choose from. Has anyone recently been to the resort/parks that can comment on selection. I am wondering what level of inventory is available on site? We are staying at All Star Movies - it would be great to know if they have many available in the gift shop, so we can purchase as soon as we arrive.

We were there in late Feb. There was a large selection.

Guessing it's either a supply chain issue (with current lockdown overseas), or the release of MagicBand+ is on the horizon?

When I visited Pin Trading Central at Epcot a few weeks ago, I recall they didn't have a large selection of MagicBands available like they always had in the past.

There were no MagicBands to be found at my resort during this most recent visit.

Good question! Will follow for answers as I am doing the same. Am not interested in the ones available online and if I have to pay anyway, would like to pick one with more appeal (Food and Wine design!). Right now my strategy is to use the app on the phone to get into Epcot that first day and purchase one there. Also waiting for release of the Magicband+ and to see what those will cost so I can see if I want to splurge or stick with current model. I wonder if the supply issues for the basic magicbands are the same holding back the release of the new model? Seems likely.

Great question! I was just coming over here to ask if anyone knows what time the new bands “drop”. When I saw some new ones at 5:40 this morning it wouldn’t let me check out because they were apparently already gone.

Been noticing the lack online lately too. Been considering just going with a standard color and buying/making a skin.

The first one. MagicBand+ will be a new (more expensive) option that they plan to sell alongside MagicBand 2. It's not supposed to replace MagicBand 2.

Of course, it's possible that the two issues are intertwined... Supply chain issues leading to limited production capacity, which Disney is using to bulk up the release inventory for MB+. But that's entirely speculation.

Yes we are having the same issue the options are limited . We too are looking at ordering the cheapest option and having stickers ( skins) made .
