Hi.
I am just reconfirming that if I have a MB from when they first came out, I can still have my tickets linked to my MB.
I'm AP and DVC, so it's not for me, but for my ds, who is leaving for Disney with his GF on Monday.
They purchased tickets (through the GF's MDE app, which she just downloaded) and hoping he can still use his old MB (I
purchased one for the GF for her stocking for Christmas).
I will ask them to go to the front desk at GFVs when they arrive to make sure all in order, but just wanted to reconfirm
the old MB will still work for rides. They don't care about the ride pictures or PhotoPass.

Also, this brings me to another question. I have my ds on my MDE and his GF has my ds on her MDE.
I do not see that he has tickets on MDE but since she has him on her MDE and purchased the tickets, should
it show up on her MDE (I'll look to see the little ticket icon when I see her this weekend).

Thank you all very much.

Did GF link to your MDE account or did she create a new profile for DS in her profile? If he has two profiles - one in her account and one in your account, the MB in your account is not going to link to the new profile in her account.

Old MB will work if the battery didn’t completely die. I haven’t tested my originals lately, but I did test one three years old last trip and it was fine.

Definitely sounds like your son now has two profiles. You will need to probably call to get that fixed.

Speaking of that, at what age can someone manage their own profile? Is it 14? My niece definitely has two and I want to get that fixed before our next trip and if she’s old enough, it would be easiest if she had her own account now.

Any generation of MB will continue to work for virtually forever as long as they are marked as "Active" in MDE. Once the battery is dead, they will no longer work for automatic linking of ride photos, but any function where you need to touch the band to a reader will still work.

LONG story short, originally a few months ago, I listed her on my MDE.

Then, this past week, she downloaded MDE. I sent her a notification from my MDE and then she linked to my MDE.
Then she added my ds on her own. So, I can see she has tickets (but I'm guessing from what you wrote, it's because she was under my MDE and now I shared our plans) but I can't see my ds has tickets but it's because she made a new
profile for him. Is this correct? I should have never added her I'm guessing, my MDE was nice and "clean" LOL and no mess ups LOL

From what you wrote, she should see both my ds and her tickets on her MDE. Is this correct?

I hope I didn't mess it all up.

Thank you. Instead of my calling and having my ds's GF on the other end too, is this something they can
fix at the front desk in GFVs? Or, if I can see on GFs MDE that they both have tickets showing, is it fine then?
What about the MB if they are under my MDE?

Thank you.
I looked in my MDE at my ds's MBs and it only lists four. He certainly has about 5 times that amount so I will need, I'm guessing, to go through each and every one and find a match to the ones I have for him listed on MDE?
I just need it to open the door, tap into the parks and for G+.

However, these are listed under my MDE. Will it matter that his GF has a new profile for him?

Do you think this is something the front desk CMs at GFVs can help fix? If I cannot find a MB that matches the four in his profile on my MDE, can he purchase or be given a gray one at GFVs. I feel like sometimes when I'm there, I see them going into a drawer behind their desks in the DVC building and pulling them out.

Thank you so much!

You all really want to fix this BEFORE the trip. He needs one profile with his resort reservation and tickets on it - and if he is going to use a MB - that one showing on that profile. This is a bit of a pain to straighten out - and they don't want waste vacation time doing this.

I recently travelled with someone and we had the same issue going on. The profile I had on the resort reservation was profile #1 (which we had linked), but she put her tickets on profile #2 (well, because she had two profiles). She called and did get it all fixed such that she now only has ONE profile - and everything was linked. She even got her existing Magicband linked properly. It took her ONE phone call. There were still a few hours of delay to get it all to show properly in both our MDE accounts - but it all worked.

They don't give out Magicbands anymore - but they will give him a card. And MANY folks are just using their MDE account on their phone as a hotel key and their tickets if they set that up properly - so you don't "need" a MB. I admit, I still like one and find it easier. He can always buy a new MB if he wants,, too, at any resort or park. They are easy to link.

Remember - early entry (or the extended evening hours at a deluxe) - is because you have a resort reservation at a WDW hotel. Great - he has that. But on the profile he has a TICKET to get into the park - he isn't staying at a WDW hotel.

This is correct. The close-range RFID readers do not have batteries and draw power from the touch point. Only the long-range readers require power. The battery for that is likely long dead in year-one band.

It sounds like your DS has a profile in your MDE account and another profile in GF's MDE account and his tickets are linked to the profile in GF's account, however his MB is linked to the profile in your account. If that is the case, no, the MB linked to the DS profile in your account will not be linked to his tickets in GF's account. Honestly, the easiest thing to do at this point is for him to get a new MB and link it to the profile in GF's account or just ask the front desk for a key card when they check into the resort.

Thank you all soo soo much.
I called DVC MS and spoke with a knowledgeable CM while my son's GF was with me and he straightened it all
out for us, while my ds made his own MDE account and then the CM did whatever he needed to do for GF and me. My ds had only four MBs that were active, one of which I found was the first issue but it said it was
activated and all should be good.
