magic band delivery disappointment! **Update! they are here now!

I already asked about this on the main board but I wanted to vent a little here. My magic bands said "delivered" today on the MDE page this afternoon but they were not. I called the post office and they said we have a new carrier and they will ask her tomorrow. I was even home when the mail came--I wish I would have heard her coming! My neighbors don't have them. One street over there is a similar sounding street and sometimes we get the mail of the house with the same # . I walked over there but no one was home.
On the main board a poster said I could get grey bands at check in. I don't want grey bands. I want the red, blue and orange ones with our names on them and DVC sliders that are God knows where in my subdivision right now.
I guess I will wait until Tuesday and then call Disney and try to get a replacement set. Luckily we are 25 days out!

I would give it another day or two. I get a lot of mail that says 'delivered' from the post office. It's not always delivered on time. Sometimes the mail is accidentally left on the truck for the next day. So give it a little while longer. Accidents happen! But I do hope you get your bands soon!! I'm waiting for mine, too!!

"magic band disappointment" should read = "disappointment with delivery of our magic bands"

I know sometimes lazy postal workers will mark packages delivered but not deliver till a day later if they don't want to. My postman is REALLY bad.

Also, much to our displeasure, your names will not be on them.....its simply printed on the cardboard box as for each one. Kind of a bummer as we're staying a couple days after our honeymoon, and I was hoping/thinking the bands would say Mr. Disk and Mrs. Disk......nope!

Did you look on the back of them where the microchip and other electronics are housed? The names aren't on the color part of the band but instead on the back.

That's what u remember from the ones we got in Sept. Whatever name you choose on the site is what came on the backside of the band. I put my kids nicknames on both. I'm too tired to check my new ones though

OP, with USPS delivery, "delivered" most often officially means "delivered to the post office". Then it's sorted and your carrier gets it and THEN it arrives at your home. USPS has been driving people batty for years with this.

I agree! The tracking info from USPS is minimal at best and confusing as well. The package was probably delivered to the local post office too late to go out for delivery to the OP's house yesterday and will probably be delivered sometime today.

ETA: On the other hand, the post office and other delivery services like UPS do make mistakes. I've had UPS packages left on my doorstep that were not addressed to us and I've had mail addressed to me end up elsewhere. If that is what happened here, I hope that whoever has your package turns it in ASAP!

A "delivered" notation should indicate that it's in your mailbox or on your porch. It should never mean that it's arrived at the post office. The only exception would be if your postal carrier is a contract rural carrier. They sometimes scan everything as it goes onto the delivery vehicle, and, if they run out of time, it could come back to the contract postal facility. But that wouldn't be common.

She remembered there is a similar sounding street ( I am at 1010 Sandy Bluff and they are at 1010 Sandy Bend--not real addresses) and I told her I went over there twice yesterday but no one was home. She said the carrier was still at the PO and she would make sure she "looked" for it today. I guess that means hoping whoever got it will put it back in the mailbox with a "not at this address" notation, rather than just throwing it out. (I know, worst case scenario, but I'm paranoid.)
I am hoping it is waiting for me when I get home if that is the case. I'm going to give it until Tuesday, then call Disney and get some new ones sent--maybe priority mail or something.

I doubt Disney will send them priority.... but they may be able to do what they do for us WDW visitors who live out of country. Our selected bands, colours and all will be waiting at the resort for us.

They are here! The mail carrier brought them to the door. They were somewhere else (she didn't specify where) but now they are here where they belong! And the names are inside. And DVC sliders!

Every MB package I've ever received has been shipped by UPS, not USPS. And they're shipped overnight.

Yours were delivered by regular USPS??

I just received four sets via usps. They were sent at small parcel rates, which would normally be slow, but they all arrived within two days of shipping.

Oh ok... Good to know. The last set I got was for a trip in February. That one, and all the ones prior, were UPS Overnight. Which always seemed crazy to me.
