Magic Band colors

Before I link my current bands to my upcoming trip, wanted to know what colors they have to offer. My daughters want a purple one and and a pink one. And my wife doesn't want to use her red one from last year. Do they sell different ones at the resorts? As often as we go I'm not opposed to buying one.

Basic colors are gray, red, orange, yellow, green, pink, and blue. You can purchase those or specialty bands (Frozen, etc.) in the parks and at the resorts. Also, don't worry about linking current bands to your MDE account as any and all that are linked can be used interchangeably.

Yup, no purple yet. I heard that there was some issue with getting the dye correct, as there were plans for a purple. There is a Magic Bands collector site that has all the details about park bands and resort bands - everything. The pre-order bands are able to customize (you can get your name or whatever you want written on the inside). Down part is those only come in solid colors. The in-park bands come in decorated (princesses, haunted mansion, stitch, etc) versions, but you can't get your name on them like the pre-orders.

There are MB covers. I bought a pack that came with 3 different color designs. I personally found that using these made wearing the bands a bit more comfy, even if they're just fabric covers.

I had seen somewhere the battery is expected to last about two years do you know if the bands you buy in the parks have the ability to put a new battery in so I would have more life out of the band?

There is no way to change the battery. The MagicBand will continue to work at the tapstiles well beyond two years because it is the tapstile that uses a battery/power to read the RFID info in the MB. The long-range battery for ride videos and photos is what will eventually expire/die.
