Only the new MagicBand+ (plus) can be used at Disneyland. Not all functions that are available at WDW are available at DLR.Oh??? So a WDW MagicBand can be linked and used at DL? I have a DVC Dooney band from WDW ... could it be used? I had no idea!
But this glitch is true w/out the MagicBand, also, isn't it? We often get 'flagged' when walking from the Grand Cal, through DCA, to reach DL. We are trying to learn to "slow it down" before hopping to to the 2nd park. That "15 minute" rule has caught us a few times, indeed.Be aware there is a little "glitch" currently.
When you park hop, if you have swiped your band to enter a park or used your discount in one park recently (say 15 minutes), if you try to hop to the other park, the system flags you because it thinks you are or should still be in the first park. I got scanned in at DCA after leaving DL, and even though my picture came up when they scanned my band, and it was obviously me, the system flagged me. They had to get a lead to come over and clear the alert. It's a problem that they are aware of and it's only day 5 of the system, so I'm sure they'll get it worked out. They were very apologetic and I was cool. It's a completely new system for DLR CM's so definitely need to cut the front line troops a break.
First time for me.But this glitch is true w/out the MagicBand, also, isn't it? We often get 'flagged' when walking from the Grand Cal, through DCA, to reach DL. We are trying to learn to "slow it down" before hopping to to the 2nd park. That "15 minute" rule has caught us a few times, indeed.
It happens at WDW also, but it's 60 minutes. But this glitch is true w/out the MagicBand, also, isn't it? We often get 'flagged' when walking from the Grand Cal, through DCA, to reach DL. I think it only happened to us once going between Epcot and DHS. We parked at Epcot since that's where we were ending our day. We walked through Epcot and out the IG then on to DHS where we were stopped since it had been less than an hour since we entered Epcot.Fascinating. I didn't know this. It's hard to believe we haven't ever been caught up in this window. Maybe we have and just didn't realize what happened because the few times I've had to have a lead called over, I never gave it a second thought once we were cleared to enter.
100% It's a glitch regarding the tickets/passes, not the medium used. Happened to my wife and I last Spring with our phone app magic keys. Went to DCA to return merch and then immediately went to DL where we were flagged. The DL gate CM immediately recognized what happened and asked if we had just been to DCA. She told us it was a common occurrence and needed 15 minutes to elapse between parks. We had to be manually cleared by a supervising CM. We're careful now not to bounce from one park gate to the other too fast to avoid this park hopping speed bump. But this glitch is true w/out the MagicBand, also, isn't it?
I've never had it happen to me with my Magic Key, but it happened the first time with the Magic band so I assumed the correlation to the band.100% It's a glitch regarding the tickets/passes, not the medium used. Cool. What I didn't realize was that this is also a thing at WDW (60min?!)- something that could easily be triggered between Epcot/HS or Epcot/MK. Makes me think this possibly isn't so much a glitch, but intentional design (to prevent exactly what kind of occurrence/fraud I'm not sure). It's a very quirky rule for sure!I've never had it happen to me with my Magic Key, but it happened the first time with the Magic band so I assumed the correlation to the band.
I assume it's designed to prevent people from circumventing the reservation system (DL not available but DCA is? Just reserve at DCA, scan in at 12:59, then hop over to DL at 1:00). It takes about 20 seconds to walk across the Esplanade.Cool. Ummm ... but after 1P you aren't required to check in at the original park reservation. That only applies if you have a reservation made on a date that showed both parks available. If you select, for example, a day that shows only DCA available for reservation, even after 1:00 you still need to scan into DCA first, then hop.Ummm ... but after 1P you aren't required to check in at the original park reservation. Just show up at either gate?
(This comment relates specifically to DLR, not WDW.)
Magic Key holders will be able to make a reservation for one or both parks, subject to park availability for the date they select. Magic Key holders who have a park reservation for both theme parks must enter the first park as designated in their park reservation, and may cross over and switch between parks on the same day beginning at 1:00 PM (subject to availability). After 1:00 PM, Magic Key holders who have a park reservation for both parks and who have not entered any park yet, may enter either park despite the first park that is designated in their park reservation. Please check the Park Hours calendar and the Disneyland app for the most up-to-date Park Hopper hours, as they could change, depending on the day and park. At this time, a park reservation is not required for the other park after visiting the first park; however, reservation requirements are subject to change. Please note that the ability to visit the other park will be subject to that park’s capacity limitations, operational hours, closures and other restrictions, and is not guaranteed.
Only Magic Band+ works at DLR.Ok call me confused...but do the Non Magic band 2 bands work? I got a really cool one at the outlet Mall and was hoping to use it and save a bit of cash...also was going to get some for the rest of the fam that are going with me in Dec.
Well, you can open your WDW hotel room and charge with it...LOLFirst off, I just wanna say ya'll are bunch of suckers for buying into this MB+ gimmick! J/K. well, kinda. I wish my old MBs worked. I hate that it's bigger and needs charging every night. And you can't even open your hotel room and charge on it yet. I don't want to play Star Wars pokemon game that bad.
On a different note, there is a DVC preview center in Disneyland?
