Magic band as ID bracelet?

I did some searching and didn't find anything so I apologize if this has been discussed.

Has anyone used their magic bands as a type of ID bracelet for their kids? I'm wondering if it makes sense to customize it with a phone number instead of a name, just in case, for instance, the tiny person gets separated from us.

Or does the magic band contain enough personal info that a CM would be able to scan him, and at least find our names and where we are staying (assuming we are on property)?

There was one post and from what I know yes they can scan it and see name and resort info. Putting a number in place of the name wouldn't help unless your LO knows to take it off and show them. The print is on the underside and no one can see it. CM are not allowed to search for info on a child it has to be visible.

You can't put it inside. You need to put it outside. The CM will not remove the band to look for a number just like if you put a cell number instead of a name its on the inside. Unless the kid takes it off and says here is mommys number.

Good call - thank you! Figured since he'll be wearing it we might as well use it as part of our emergency planning. I'll sharpie both of our cell phone numbers on the outside of the band.

To make the band smaller to fit, the outside gray trim comes off. We put it on the inside for dgs and he was old enough to know it was in there. You may also want to get the temporary tattoo safety bandaid looking item we found at AAA.

Phone # is 10 digits, you can only personalize (via Disney) to 9 digits...Sharpie is the way to go.

I had to pull the gray off just for my tiny wrist and iit didn't ruin it. I also had to do it for DD. There was so much I couldn't get a comfy tight fit with it on there.

We pulled the gray off. It left the edges a little rough looking, but I wouldn't say it was ruined. After a couple days it looked just fine.
