I'm leaving for WDW in 4 days!

This wil be my first trip since Magic Bands came out and I realized today that I don't quite know how it works, even though I've used My Disney Experience to set up my Fast Passes.

I purchased my park ticket over the phone. In case it matters, I was able to get a discounted ticket through RunDisney since I'm participating in the Expedition Everest Challenge.

I used the confirmation number for my ticket to set up My Disney Experience. Since the ticket is now linked to my Magic Band, does that mean that on my first day I just walk up to the entrance and use the Magic Band to get in? Do I not need to wait in line to pick up a physical park ticket at will call anymore?

Thanks!

1. Yes.

2. I'm not sure that there would be "waiting in line" involved, but you could
choose to ALSO pick up a physical ticket at any ticket booth or Guest Relations at some point.

Do you have to check into your resort before using your magic bands for the first time? I ask because I am on a split stay. The first two days of my stay at OKW and I do not have any park days or other reservations linked to it. On day three I start at AOA and will have park access and I figured I would have to check out of OKW, and then physically go to AOA and check in there BEFORE I would be able to use my first day of park access (thus officially "activating" that stay and the reservations linked to it).

Thanks! Is there a reason I might want to have a physical ticket, aside from as a momento?
