So, I have read on here that it is about $15 to buy one. If you have one do you have to carry your ticket with you? They get you in the park, right?

My main question is this....I have a wife that will likely take a down day, sit at the condo, sit by the pool, sleep in. If I took her magic band with me would I be able to use it and if so, for what? Entrance? Fp+? What good would it be to carry the extra band if any.

4- Entrance?
5- Fp+?

6- What good would it be to carry the extra band if any.

1- Yes. $12.95, plus tax.
2- Nope. (But I would, just in case, anyway.)
3- Yes.
4- You can't use it for entry, due to the finger-scan taken at the gates.
5- Maybe. Maybe not. (It would be a form of "gaming the system" regardless.)
6- I don't know that it would be of value to do so.

I know it is "gaming the system", but was wondering if it would even work. I have heard people sharing their bands already, but was wondering if that person had to actually be in the park. Also, if they work all the time why wouldn't someone buy one and then use their pass for entry and have 6FP+s

I don't know that we will buy the bands anyway, but just looking for as much information on how they work...like...are they only activated when you enter the park or are they active all the time? If I did use FP+ on a magic band that wasn't used for entry would that take a day off their passes? Just wondering things like that. The more information the better...

You wouldn't be able to get 6FPs by using your pass and your magic band. They are not two separate forms of tickets, but rather two separate ways to access the same ticket. (They are linked together) now there have been people who previously stayed onsite and were able to do this by not linking their bands. (I think disney has closed that loop hole) but that wouldn't be possible for a purchased band.
