I've been looking for thread about the magic bands & the Disney Dining Plan but do not see one. My question is with the bands turning off when you checkout does that effect your dining plan. We are doing a split DVC trip and will be changing room types we will have the dining plan for our first night and want to use it for dinner the day we check out and move to a new room. It is supposed to work until midnight of checkout day. Does anybody have experience with issues on checkout day?
Any help is appreciated

Thanks

We did this in October. We added a day at the Poly and booked under a RO rate whereas we had been under the sports rate for the TOT run. They had even sent new magic bands at the front desk. We kept using our old ones and a CM was able to connect our old and new together. We were able to get into the parks, our room and use the meal entitlements that were left. I don't know if the system now is able to recognize when this happens and not send new MB.

The bands do not turn off when you check out. The bands don't do anything but read your My Disney Experience profile. There is nothing actually stored on the bands. As long as you have both room reservations linked to MDX, any band you have should be able to read both reservations.

Your dining plan expires at midnight after you check out. Your credits for that reservation would not be accessible from your profile after midnight. Has nothing to do with the bands.

Any active magic band you have is supposed to be able to read your room reservation and would know how many credits are left for use.
