Hi, I got my magic bands yesterday and there was a small item ncluded, one for each person, that says Disney vacation club on it. It has little Mickey ears and a slot in it that looks like it might fit on the band, but it doesn't. Anyone know what this is?

It's the DVC slider. Slide the band into it. Sliders can help keep the MB on if the clippies come undone.

Slide it on the end with the holes. Slide it past the holes and then clip the band on. Then slide it back over the band so it can't pop off.

It does fit! Thanks everyone. I also got my cards today and my computer thumb drive. I thought the wrist band erased the need for the cards. But I'm not complaining. Just thinking I have to go to wdw a little more so this is all second nature :)

Your DVC member card?

The cards are green and the letter attached says they are my "resort ticket media"
I linked my band online so I thought that would be activated with my resort reservation, ticket to the parks, and fast pass.

They are still sending out thumb drives?????

The cards are shown to get discounts.

I haven't looked at the drive yet. But I would think they can put the discounts on the wrist band. Oh well, I'm going to Disney world so it's all good

Nothing at all is "on" a magic band. All it does is emit a fixed numerical code that tells MDE who you are.

DVC/AP discounts will likely never be honored just based on the band, because the band is easy to hand off to someone else. Unless and until they do a photograph plus fingerprint system at the vending kiosks, akin to what is at the park entrance plus photo, expect that you will continue to have to show ID and card, despite the fact the system does indeed reflect your status.

Disney knows how easy it would be to circumvent their current system without positive ID, and frankly they're totally ok with you not getting a discount if you forget to bring and present your card and ID. Far less costly for them this way, rather than adding the positive identification terminals at every retail and dining register.

I love my DVC and AP sliders on my MB because they remind me to ask for a discount!

So, that's what it is called and the purpose? A slider to remind me about discounts? Ok. What is AP?

Annual pass and the purpose of the slider is purely ornamental. I guess it could remind one to ask about discounts and at some stores the Cast Member noticed ours and asked if we were DVC. Then we were asked for our member card to get the discount.

Are they only send the USB drive once? We got one once but now they only send the customized booklet.

I got one once, but never again.....but they have sent 7 different Magic bands to each of us. We are going for a 3 day weekend in January with friends on their points....2 nights...2 different resorts...4 separate reservation numbers and they were shipped 4 USB drives.
